Found this on this page amongst other places.

it is. it's from a contest the washington post runs every sunday called the Style Invitational. they'll come up with something where people have to submit funny answers. (They've done this one a couple of times, and a zillion others - like "near misses" of famous quotations, questions to silly jeopardy answers, etc) and a month later, they print the best ones. that's the only time I've seen Paul in there, but Mike Clem has had stuff printed a few times recently.

and this contest in particular gets sent around a LOT with the names removed and the claim that they were analogies used in school papers and such.

i miss the style invitational so much. the chicago tribune has a really lame imitation called "the q challenge," and it's absolutely hideous. skippy, mike clem, lawrence's dad, and chuck smith of woodbridge need to move to chicago and inject some humor into this city's sunday papers.
