Well, I dunno about "greasy, ex-star lounge singer" but he has gotten better on Play. They are still doing the MTV style thing where the camera and Jian never actually stop moving, I guess that is supposed to be nouveau or something. Makes me disoriented. As to the Jaymz Bee comparison, Jaymz has a really good announcer voice, Jian still sounds like he is trying to shout over a large loud crowd when he gets excited, he forgets that he really is only talking to the 2.5 people (or whatever) parked in front of each tv. But that is part of his charm, he is such an excitable boy.
It sounds like I am slamming him instead of praising him but really I think he is what is needed, a fresh face who will never be "news anchor smooth".

One more thing.... you can really see how much faster his mind works than the others he works with. Its so funny the way he interupts almost everybody, sometimes for the one-liner, most often just to get the other person to get on with it. Most fun to watch.

Heh.. I have yet to see the show... but I know what you mean, just from fruvous.
The thing is... in the band, they ALL did that... was one of my favorite things.

I don't think it's an "mtv style" If I remember correctly by the end of the show Jian had been all over the stage 50 billion times. I think it's just Jian style.
