Plagerism

A recent study showed that 38% of the students polled had committed cut and paste plagerism. I can believe this, I helped a friend of mine track down the original sources online of papers his students handed in.
This option wasn't available to me when I was a student. The closest I ever came was when the girl sitting next to me passed me a note with the answer to question on a French test and I use it. I was so nervous that i put it in the the wrong space.

A website that is spreading like wildfire through colleges across the country. It's a term paper database that students can submit their term papers too. Then the class instructor can do a search based on all other term papers and other text that exists around the internet and see just how much of the paper was cut and pasted. Very very handy tool to really help curb cheating. Cheating is not fair to those who actually do the work.

When I was ten I wrote a school essay based on a detective show that screened on television a short while earlier. Didn't occur to me that its plager..., plagiar..., theft. It was just a great story worth retelling.
At 19 I sold a cartoon to a magazine that was a brazen rip-off of someone else's creativity. That time I was very much aware of the meaning of plagiarism, but the cheque I eventually got for it arrived just in time to stop me being evicted for being outrageously behind in rental payments. Now I have noticed that my lifestyle is an unacknowledged reworking of Walter Mitty's. To me it is a tragedy. Everyone else who bothers to comment, erm, wait, no, nobody does.
