I think my main objection would be from the "what's the point?" camp. The diaries section is already set up for a LJ-type friends list, and any comments show up on the main page anyways.
That pretty much just leaves you with a MySpace style option, which seems to be mostly just for show. I just can't think of anything useful that would add (beyond possible drama). Other than having a list of people who I consider my friends (which, on a small site like this would only really serve to exclude people), what would a friends list do? The diary entries and messages are already set up in a friendly manner, I can have my frequent contacts readily accessible and highlighted on the recent user list, and it's not as if there are millions of users to sort through.

Then again, this objection could just come from my absolute hatred of MySpace ;-)

it sounds like an open invitation to fruhead drama to me. and i like myspace.
Gordondon son of Ethelred Back · 18 years, 10 months ago
I agree, plus it is redundant. I have my frequent contact list.
Actually the myspace friends list is pretty silly too. Not many of the people on my list are actually friends. They are musicians that I like. Musicians that I never heard of keep wanting to friend me. It becomes a numbers game.

the myspace friends list is completely ridiculous. it's all about numbers and shameless self-promotion.

but--and i say this every time there's a debate about myspace--it's been really helpful for me as an independent musician. i've made a lot of great contacts and even gotten a number of gigs thru myspace.

And I realize that which is why I have been building Paul and Storm's Friend's list.

Be like other sites...we should be unique.

Besides, I have no friend *boo hoo*

The Reply Button is your friend.
Andrea Krause Back · 18 years, 10 months ago
Um...didn't seem like he was replying to any specific post, just the poll...?
sheryls Back · 18 years, 10 months ago

maybe it was just an affirmation. starfox says he has no friends but the reply button is still his friend :D

Gordondon son of Ethelred Back · 18 years, 10 months ago
Exactly!
Rimbo Back · 18 years, 10 months ago
I maintain that Andrea knew that, and was playing along.
Starfox Back · 18 years, 10 months ago
I have plenty of friends.....in my head.
Starfox Back · 18 years, 10 months ago
You get the cookie. Surprised some others couldn't grok that.

I sure am.

My word.......
sheryls · 18 years, 10 months ago
the flist thing doesnt interest me as much as multiple avatars does. :D that's the only LJ-esque feature i'd like to see. although, probably costly space-wise.
goovie is married! Back · 18 years, 10 months ago
i would dig that if our avatars could be 100x100 so i wouldn't have to resize things for fhdc, but that's just me being lazy.
Gordondon son of Ethelred · 18 years, 10 months ago
It is just me, or mozilla, or has the color scheme changed and made it harder to find new posts?
Josh Woodward Back · 18 years, 10 months ago
Not anymore!
Kris 'engaged' Bedient Back · 18 years, 10 months ago
and there's even a little "new" graphic
Andrea Krause Back · 18 years, 10 months ago
Yeah, that's ALL there was before Josh brought the highlighting back. It was very difficult. :)
