A very lightly roasted Ethiopian coffee in the morning is one of life's finest pleasures. :)
Sara Woodward Back · 18 years, 11 months ago
Yum. I could've used a cup of that this morning once I got to work. It's a Monday. :)
Annika Back · 18 years, 11 months ago
Sounds like someone's got a case of the mondays!

How many others of you are decaf drinkers?

Coffee is one of the three basic food groups; the others are chocolate and peanut butter.
Josh Woodward Back · 18 years, 11 months ago
Decaf isn't a roast. :-P
Gordondon son of Ethelred Back · 18 years, 11 months ago
I almost didn't post that for that reason but I figured it was easier than making a separate forum.

Decaf isn't a roast? Shoot, dude, decaf isn't coffee.
nate... Back · 18 years, 11 months ago
exactly.

That's like nonalcoholic beer..... or cigarettes..... what's the point?

A girl named Becca Back · 18 years, 11 months ago
Yeah, nonalcoholic cigarettes are so lame.
nate... Back · 18 years, 11 months ago
seriously.

Give me bourbonsmokes any day.

coffee and I don't get along. Tea with milk for me in the morning.
Geoff Back · 18 years, 11 months ago
IAWTP. Earl Grey.
J. Andrew World Back · 18 years, 11 months ago
"Tea. Earl Gray. Hot."
*joolee* · 18 years, 11 months ago
I'm more of a tea girl...but even that is rare.

How's about a cup of cranberry juice, huh?
Rimbo · 18 years, 11 months ago
I'm surprised at how many people here despise coffee so much, seeing as it's my LIFE-BLOOD. There are few things I enjoy more.
Josh Woodward Back · 18 years, 11 months ago
Yeah, over half of Fruheads hate coffee? I almost didn't think to put that poll option in there. :)
nate... Back · 18 years, 11 months ago
I know!
I am truly shocked.

To me it is completely blechy. I get my caffeine from mountain dew.

Every time I've tried coffee it tastes like an ashtray. people say "well, you gotta put a bunch of sugar and cream in it and it'll taste great"...but...I just don't care to have to work to make myself like the stuff. I don't think it's worth it to train myself to like something that's not really good for me anyway. :)
Talcott Back · 18 years, 11 months ago
well, you gotta put a bunch of sugar and cream in it and it'll taste great"

What? No!
I've never understood adding cream and sugar. It just makes the coffee not taste like coffee. Of course, this coming from someone who's been known to just eat the beans when there isn't time to ground and brew any...

On the flip side, I can't imagine getting my morning caffeine from mountain dew. I like the taste, but soooo much sugar.

Now mixing coffee and mountain dew, that could work... You could market it as Toxic Waste!

I've eaten the beans too. Just one at a time. Not instead of coffee but as a little taste treat.

Here's a little hint. If you make something like a frappaccino put a few whole beans in the blender with the mix. It adds little bursts of flavor to the drink. One of the best coffeebars that Starbucks put out of business did that.

What?!?!?! Straight up?? Not even chocolate covered? Ick! I like the occas choco covered espresso bean...but i don't think my tummy could handel them just plain.

The whole cream and sugar thing only makes sense to me because people drink coffee that's roasted way too dark - they need to mask the bitterness from the charcoal in their cups. Truly light roasts (which are almost impossible to find in stores, and are impossible to find in coffee shops) don't have any of that bitterness, but have a nice acidic kick to keep things interesting.
Gordondon son of Ethelred Back · 18 years, 11 months ago
When I was a kid I used lots of sugar. Now I use none. I still like the milk though and yes I like it dark roasted.
Gordondon son of Ethelred Back · 18 years, 11 months ago
Hey I'm the only one that likes dark roast.

Songbill Back · 18 years, 11 months ago
I gave up caffeine in October. I used to be truly addicted to coffee. A caffeine-free life has led to a lot more steady energy level, nearly all day, assuming I've had a decent amount of sleep.
Yeah, decaf is a joke! I miss coffee.

Anyone else here love Dunkin' Donuts coffee?
renita Back · 18 years, 11 months ago
i love tim horton's coffee, which is almost the same thing (only in my opinion a little better)
renita · 18 years, 11 months ago
i voted for dark/vienna but really i could have just as easily voted light or medium. it totally depends on my mood.

i take cream in my coffee, not to make it "taste better" but for the texture :) if there's no milk, i'll drink it black.

Maybe just use a little arrowroot? ;D
renita Back · 18 years, 11 months ago
blergh :p

or cornstarch? or a roux?

wouldn't arrowroot change the taste anyway?
nate... Back · 18 years, 11 months ago
I don't think arrowroot has any flavor, actually.
