I tend to look at careerbuilder.com, monster.com, and dice.com.
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Every year I get coupons at Thanksgiving and Xmas for free egg nog and ice cream... heh...ok...i don't feel so bad now. Our christmas bonus this year (from the company that bought us out) was a fleece blanket with their logo on it. The message: "Sorry you can't earn enough to pay your heating bills this winter, but here's a blanket to keep you warm."........cheers............ ![]()
My Christmas bonus was having to come in the week after New Years and give a second final and grade them. I was not paid for this time. The second final was needed because many students missed the final because of the transit strike. They should have just closed the school.

Well, just be glad you're not a first-year teacher. I'm here 7-5 daily, whereas most teachers don't even show up for the whole 7:30-3:30 block when we're required to be here, and they all get paid like twice as much as I do because they've been here so long. I did the math once, and I make less per hour than I did at my part-time campus jobs in college.

For non-profit jobs, you can't go wrong with:
Idealist nonprofitstaffing.com (it's the site of Professionals for Non-Profits, a staffing agency in the New York area) The Philanthropy News Digest Job Corner Non Profit Oyster I've got a list of about 10 others, plus a bunch of sites for Jewish related jobs, if anyone's interested. These are the best, though. ![]()
When I was temping, most of my gigs were at non-profits. If working the front desk/file room is any indication, I'd say look into it. They tend to be fairly laid back and comfortable. If you pick something you're interested in, there's a bit more motivation. I don't know if the pay's as good (on average) but it might still be more than what you're leaving.
