I remember those... they were around before the internet, right?

:)

...because we don't have internet access at our desks. otherwise, I like yellow.com.

I actually do have phone books, but they're about three years old. For some reason, the phone company just never delivered new ones.

Not that it matters, since I can use switchboard and google to find pretty much anything and anyone now. (I, however, am nearly impossible to find, thankfully. :)

of course, I rarely use the reference at all any more, anyway.

Josh must be getting desperate. :)

I never. Ever. Use the phone book. I can only assume, using myself as the average human, that 50% of phone books go completely unused. What a waste.

See, if I know the name of what I'm looking for (Bob's Robot Supply), it takes less time for me to grab the phone book and flip it to the "B"s than it does to dial, connect, and let google or an online phonebook load.

Plus, if I'm just looking for open hours or something, it's quicker to use the phone book and call than to go online, but that's more because of bad web design.

That said, I still don't use the phone book all that often, and in the year we've been here, I think we've accumulated three or four.

I tend to keep one in the car for where I don't have internet and I hate calling for info...and one around home just for food type stuff. But it doesn't get used much.

ahhh.. yeah, I could see using it if I still had dialup...

I just, can't imagine not having an internet connection.

But you can't use google as a booster seat.

Should I worry for myself that I almost posted the same thing?
lawrence Back · 19 years, 8 months ago
Oh, just wait. They'll make it possible with Google Solid.

Use my phonebook? When the footrest isn't available?
Gordondon son of Ethelred Back · 19 years, 8 months ago
No you should be proud and brag about it.
caroline: tired. · 19 years, 8 months ago
I think I use it...maybe once a year? I don't have any need for phone numbers, really, because i don't make many calls. however, i did call Barnes & Noble a couple weeks ago, to see if they had a cd.

I used the Yellow pages today. I needed a jeweler to put a new battery in my mother's watch and all the ones I usually go to were on vacations. What's with them all going on vacation at the same time?
Annika · 19 years, 7 months ago
I use it to draw on or write notes while I'm talking on the phone, and if something is about a foot too high for me to reach I can take the 3 king county phonebooks and one of the Snohomish county phone books and they make the perfect step up.
