I know there is a similar form but this one is more general. It is nice to have a place to share with the world how annoying the people we work or go to school with are.
My officemate will simply not shut up. I was at my computer writing my update then reading the Times and he did not stop talking to me the entire time I'm doing this. He can see that I'm busy but it doesn't stop him. If I try and ignore him he'll say, "What do you think?" "Don't you agree?" etc.
I know somebodyjust like that. but what makes it worse is that all he ever talks about is Magic:the Gathering or Yu-gi-oh.
I don't go anywhere without headphones in my ears, Of course, I have them attached to music, but it's a great way to discourage people from talking to you. I am also a professional ignore-er. Even with headphones on, I can sometimes hear someone calling to me, but I ignore them until they really try to get my attention, and then I'll pay attention, acting like I hadn't heard them, then they get to feel stupid. I find if I'm in a populated area without headphones, I'll just sit and listen to what everyone else is talking about instead of focusing on what I am trying to acomplish.
ummm, yeah, duh! But if you want to be super cool, do it as an MP3 cd collection (you can fit more)
This reminds me, one of the most annoying things in my opinion is when some stranger walks right up to me out of a crowd and starts asking me questions even though I have gigantic headphones on. Like, can you not tell that I can't hear you? My headphones are huge DJ ones, very hard to miss. Grrr.
That doesn't work with my officemate. He'll keep talking to me even when I have my headphones on. He also talks to me as I'm dialing the phone.
He is doing it right now, please shoot me now!
I have to no avail. He really is a very nice person, just lonely and he can't control himself. I also owe him big time. When I was sick he took over my classes. Theoretically I should have paid him for that but he wouldn't accept any money.
I use method 4, doesn't work. HE JUST KEEPS GOING! As soon as i get my zippo, the first card he starts yammering about is toast.*oh, yeah that is a good card can i see it?*

i have a mouthbreather in my seminar which lasts about2 hours. she sits next to me and all i hear is her breathing. i want to shoot myself. *S*
Ooh. I had a legtwitcher in one class in an old building where the floor shook through the whole room because of her damn fidgeting!
Then there was the girl who I think had narcolepsy, and was a snorer, who sat next to me in Shakespeare.... Actually I don't really think she had narcolepsy, she just fell asleep in class a lot.

i hereby rename this thread the Lashon Harah thread.
What are you two talking about? Does my not knowing make me a bad Jew?
Lashon Harah is mostly about speaking derogatorily about an other. Rechilut, to my understanding, is telling one that an other said something bad about them.
Rechilut is a cool word then. In English it is a definition that is in search of a word.
it seems like things here are too general & anonymous so far to really be lashon hara. i think it's more just venting than damaging someone else's good name or reputation.

One of my classmates, who shall remain nameless, is really annoying. Firstly, at a party I attended, she insisted she not use utensils. That's fine for some things, like pizza or toast, but we had (brace yourselves) spaghetti. Eww. *shudder*
And, she's just really annoying in a clingy sort of way other times. But I'm nice...I don't brush her off like so many others. So..yeah. my story.
well, she was. but then he asked. plus, there's no point, unless you happen to know the students of abington junior high...which, for all i know, you may. :)
Man. Spaghetti is so much better when you eat it with your hands. I'm not even kidding.
Mind you. I generally don't eat spaghetti. And I when I do, I generally just drag handfuls of noodles through the pot of sauce. Screw sitting down to eat. ... I don't really like spaghetti. You must first create an account to post.
