Have any of the members been confronted on MF's status?

Have any of the band members been asked point blank about them working together in any form? Maybe it's about time to pull an official word from one of them. Of course, that would ruin the state of hope that some people have been living in.

They have evasiveness down to an art form. :)

If you ask any of them that question, you will get a noncommital answer and you will succeed in annoying them. Why do that? The answer is and will always be, that the band is on hiatus until they tell you it isn't.

Really, if they have broken up, there is absolutely no advantage in publically announcing it.

Honestly, I think they haven't announced the breakup so that they won't look totally lame if the residuals start to dry up and they give one last, half-hearted hurrah. That way, they'll look like they're doing it because they love the fans, the music, and each other, and everyone wins.

honestly, I think that's the only reason they'd ever do it anyway. they all have ways of obtaining income that don't involve Moxy Früvous. I can't see them ever needing to play.

I think the reason they haven't announced a breakup is because they really all honestly think that there is some chance (however small) they will play together again at some point. Consider that they did release a couple of tracks since the beginning of the hiatus. It's not like they weren't working together. They just weren't touring.

I'm not comfortable with the idea of "confronting" the members about anything. That sounds like demanding like they owe us something. They don't.

As far as working together in any form - Mike and Dave have been working with each other performing and recording their respective solo materials. I'd bet there have been other collaborations among the four over the past few years.

...i'm just wondering why it matters. four years ago, sure, i was still waiting to hear whether they would ever tour again. but honestly, i've got enough other stuff going on in my life that i don't need to go "confront" any poor canadian guys who have absolutely no recollection of my existence. :)
