Steel City Coffeehouse benefit concert
Fed up
Susan Werner
New Model Army
Falcon Ridge (how many does that count as?)
We're About 9 (worms opening)
Polyphonic Spree
John Eddie
The Weakerthans
Nerissa and Katryna Nields
Rufus Wainwright
Move On (Jackson Browne, Bonnie Raitt, Keb mo)
Johnstown Folk Festival (Chris Smither and Seven Nations)

It's 13 unless you count all the individual acts at Falcon Ridge as one concert. Then it's like a bazillion. :)

I've seen more in 2005 all ready than I did all of 2004

30 dates, but 45 sets, according to my database.

If you count festivals as one big concert, shows were there are multiple acts (openers, split-bills, revues etc.) under one night/admission as a single concert and separate admissions on the same day for the same performer as a concert each....

....then the answer is 50, at least based on an eyeball count of my Access Database.

Between Columbus, Dayton, and Findlay, I caught at least one show a month in the first half of '04.

Not as many bands journey up to Maine though, so that kinda halves the average.

*sigh* I just wish that we could somehow relocate Canal Street Tavern to Canal Street in Lewiston...

Both were phenomenal performances however!

This is one of the reasons I wouldn't want to leave NYC.

There are definitely some months I saw more than that - hell, there was at least one *week* when I saw 4 shows - but it probably averages out with the slower months.

Hey, you get your own Canal Street, pal! :)

I seem to go to shows in clutches ... then not go for awhile. Between September and December I think I only went to 1 show, but the summer kind of balanced that out.

I figure each festival = 1 "concert"/day, so FRFF would be 4 but Singer-Songwriter Weekend would only be 2.

So far this year I've been to only 1, but February promises at least 6. :)

EFO during frucon, 2 if you count Fordy's opening.
angelmusicmaven Back · 20 years, 1 month ago
same here for Chicago... going to one or 2 a week or even 3 different fest shows a day in the summer were balanced out by a slow end of year... crickets are chirping here right now!

Actually, it was your list that inspired the poll.

EDIT: D'oh, wait, not yours. Josh Woodwards list. Damn you all and your cat avatars!

John J. Ryan · 20 years, 1 month ago
After August, I've only been to one show - EFO at BB Kings.
