Frucon table for Fordy's CD release

Is anyone planning on booking a group table at Hugh's Room like we did for EFO last year? I'd be glad to if nobody else wants to.

how does it work at Hugh's room? (never been there) If Mike allow's taping, I'd like to reserve a table near the back, by the soundboard. Can I do this, or will I need a bunch of people to reserve the table with? Thanks in advance, and sorry about the threadjack!

that's a good question. by this time last year, I think arrangements had been made already, hadn't they? what's up with that?

i mean, neal and i will both be happy to do whatever we can...but i think some things are easier done by people who actually live in or near toronto.

They may or may not have been. It was done pretty late last year. basically what has to happen is that someone in Toronto needs to reserve some space at the Comfort Suites. That someone needs the authority to sign checks, so that means Kath or Fiona, I think. Kath mentioned it the other day, and we talked about going over there when I was there for Fordy and the Worms which I ended up not seeing. But it was hectic and we were too busy.

I am wondering if we need such a big space this year. How many people are coming?

might the show draw a larger crowd than came last year?

what sort of smaller space would there even be, where we'd still be able to make noise and such?

Comfort Suites have other smaller rooms in the same area for rent. They also offer the room we usually get in separate parts.

We *DEFINITELY* don't need such a big space this year. I mean, we spent all of what...an hour in the conference room last year? I think if we just got a suite again (possibly a slightly bigger one if it's available) that would be plenty of space for hanging out and jamming/watching videos etc, and someone could use it as crash space if needed.

As for Fordy, I saw him at his little New Year's Eve show last night and he's pluggin' the show on the 18th like crazy. Not sure if that means ticket sales have been low so far or if he's just excited but, either way I'm sure he'd appreciate seeing some familiar faces.

Actually now that I think about it, he's played several gigs(two of them @ Hugh's Room) in the last little while and was very well recieved. We might want to consider booking soon if we want to take up a lot of space like we did last year. In fact, if I remember correctly, at Mike's last CD release we weren't all able to sit together=p

Maybe you spent only an hour there... I was there for the whole room's rental period, as were many other people who were happily jamming and taking part in the talent show, among other activities.

yeah, we were there most of the day, with the jamming and the open mic and the videos and all.

�Okay...don't jump down my throat. Maybe I was off with the amount of time we spent in the room. I just remembered us spending a lot of time in the restaurant so...a smaller room was just a thought.

i don't think you were there most of the time that i was in the room, anyway...but then again, i was barely in the restaurant. :)
