I don't have a dishwasher, you insensitive clod.
renita Back · 20 years, 3 months ago
and you never wash dishes by hand and leave them in a drying rack?
Zach Back · 20 years, 3 months ago
Oh...I missed that part...
lawrence · 20 years, 3 months ago
my mom likes to put them head up and I always used to poke my hand on upturned forks while trying to empty the silverware basket.

sometimes if there are an awful lot of spoons I'll alternate them so they don't nest.

it just seems that I can get more utensils to fit in that way. Plus, I was scared of getting cut by knives.

well, weve already had, how do you hang your toilet paper.
Annika Back · 20 years, 3 months ago
We could do that again and see if anyone has realized that underhand is actually the correct wayto hand toilet paper, and only hotels should hang it overhand. =D

underhand?????

I don't think this is going to work out, Anni, I'm going to have to break up with you. ;-P

backrolling the toilet paper should be criminal.

is that the hell that's just slightly better than the one where people get sent for leaving their cell phone ringer on in a public place and/or answering said cell phone during a concert?
Annika Back · 20 years, 3 months ago
nice... I'm glad that the way i position toilet paper brings me to the level of a child molester.

Well, the lord works in mysterious ways.

And, by the lord, I mean jaci.

Not happy with the poll questions or options? Then let's see you do better, really! Suggest a poll!

I always put them heads up. Mostly because I was trained that way. :) But I think part of it is I fear the fork tines will go through the grated bottom and interfere with the twirly thing. Also, I figure the heads are the dirty parts and need to be unsheltered by the basket to get the best cleaning.

This logic of course doesn't hold for drying racks because at that point they're already clean. But I've been lucky enough to have always had a dishwasher. And when I DO wash dishes by hand I just towel dry them and put them away.
Mamalissa! · 20 years, 3 months ago
I grew up stacking everything down, but then decided that it didn't make sense as far as cleaning efficacy and space efficiency. So I've switched to knives down, and everything else up.
nate... · 20 years, 3 months ago
It depends on the knife.
Sharp knives I put point down..... table/butter knives I put up.

(And, of course, GOOD knives never EVER go in the dishwasher.)

Since I'm a loser who works in the restaurant industry, I was told a long time ago that one must point the business ends of the utensils upwards to ensure proper cleanliness*thumbs up*

it really doesn't matter when you dump 'em all out onto a flat to run through a conveyor hobie. :)
