I thought I was non-Mormon that never considered being a Mormon, that had a copy of the Book of Mormon. I have since found out that the two people I speak to the most often, benderl and lori both have one. Does everyone have one? Well lets find out. What other sacred texts of religions that you neither believe in nor were brought up in, do you have? Somewhere I have a New Testament and some Hindu texts.

I have a few bibles around.... back when I was a teenager, we found that the blank pages in the bible made excellent rolling papers when you had no other rolling papers.

I guess I kinda kept 'em because I did read the majority of the stuff.... I took religion courses and such.

I'm Jewish (although not really practicing/caring), and I've got a Mormon Bible. I haven't read it,and I may or may not. I didn't get this particular religious text for any specific reason other than THE COMMERCIAL SAID IT WAS FREE! I oredred it because I had somewhat of an interest in reading the Bible, only because I'm mentally attracted to things mysterious and ancient-ish. I hear from some that it is a bad Bible to read, I hear the opposite from others. Then again, these people think I'm actually holding any sort of religious interest when I say that I wanted to read the Bible. I certainly won't get into it here and now, though. Maybe wanting to read it for reasons other than the most likely-to-be-assumed reason, which is pursuance of a religious interest, is causing more problems than what I might personally get out of reading it would be worth. Hrm.

Just for the record the Book of Mormon isn't the Mormon Bible, that's would be the King James version of the bible. It's just another book that goes hand in hand with the bible, the Doctrine and Covenants and the Pearl of Great Price.

I have a Book of Mormon, a Quran, a copy of the Upanishads, a copy of the Bhagavad-Gita, the Tibetan Book of the Dead, and assorted other texts.

It's not an issue of belief/disbelief for me with most of these, so much as having studied them at some point in philosophy or religion classes, or being curious on the cultural level. Well, except for the Book of Mormon, which was given me by missionary boys. :) Although recently you could say LDS has been a sort of cultural curiosity for me as well.

whoa...dude..really?? huzzuh. I'm a biologist in training.. I want one.
Gordondon son of Ethelred Back · 20 years, 5 months ago
That's a sacred text? If it were you were a bio major so I'd have to say it was of a religion you considered :-)

If you want to be that way I have The Origin of Species and Einstein's "Meaning of Relativity.

Stretching it not much further I have The Baseball Encycopedia and Bill Jame's Historical Baseball Abstract.

I have a good friend that is an ex-mormon.

I have a Tanach, and a bible that is in japanese and english. I have a few fancy Hagaddahs and a little sidur that's all thick silver with little gems on it (but everything is falling off of it) that belonged to my grandpa.

Other than that, i have some hymn sheet music left over from choir :D

Well...

I've got several different Chumashim with different translations and commentaries, a couple of Tanachim and of course quite a few Haggadot and Siddurim, a few New Testaments, a couple of different translations of The Dao Dejing and some collections of Sufi poetry (not sacred texts, I know, but i figured you'd be interested) there's a Book of Mormon lying around somewhere, and yes, I also have the Origin of Species. Also Ender's game. I consider that to be a sacred text.

OK five people other than me have a book of mormon without being or considering being a mormon and three of the four I know about are on my Festivus list. Am I Mormon missionary without knowing it?

I'm not sure you're wholesome-looking enough.
