1. house concert workshop with the panzers and sloan and cady
2. everything on the mainstage thursday night, most of friday night (i'm not big on airdance, but i'm excited about everything surrounding them...who knows, maybe i'll end up really digging them), saturday morning and afternoon (and the early and late evening), and all of sunday 3. the johnny and june tribute, the duos workshop, "my generation" (no clue what this one's gonna be all about, but how can you go wrong with that lineup?), and "cool morning" (ditto) 4. meg hutchinson, alastair, lisabeth, and bloody common ro at the new artist showcase 5. cajun and contra dancing on saturday night, and maybe trying my hand (feet?) at swing dancing on thursday looks like it's going to be a packed year for me. :D

Here's it is.
I'm going to be spending a LOT of time in camp this year. The nice part is that nothing interesting is happening after 3 on sunday, so I can take off early and "beat the rush". :) So little is going on on Thursday, though, that I'm starting to think maybe I should just arrive thursday morning rather than wednesday afternoon.
Ack you were serious.
I say "Common" and you say "Ro!"

The tribute should be good, I figured they'd honor Johnny Cash.
sure it's sex..but it's very creepy sex. (I like him, but I really have to be in the mood to listen to him).
how is this year lame, exactly? i've already got a full schedule of stuff to look forward to.
Nate, I loves ya, but you are so pompus, it's funny *hugs* *laughs* *hides*
but coming on wednesday gives us early arrival folks more time to spend with you! ;)
Don't know if anyone's mentioned Carla Ulbrich yet... she's gotta be worth checking out if you get time... she's playing Sat. and Sun it looks like.
she's one of the winners of last year's emerging artist showcase. i'm looking forward to seeing her at the most wanted swap.
yeah, I'm bummed about that. I wanted to try out English Country dancing at FRFF this year, cause I've heard that the English dance that is hosted by the organization where I go contra dancing is filled with a bunch of
I actually wasn't so crazy about her at the Preview Tour show, but maybe it's because there were more performers onstage than audience members, and the whole thing was kind of a downer.
She had the last song before ours to go #1 on Dr. Demento... "If I Had The Copyright (censored)." Funny stuff!! As far as FRFF though, I'm mostly jealous thinking people will have the opportunty to see Eric Lowen, Dan Navarro, Nerissa and Katryna TOGETHER... I bet soem of those workshops will be super-hyper!
I've made it a point to do it every year at fr. It is alot of fun and not that hard to learn. Its very popular at falcon ridge so I am surprised they don't have it this year. This year they have polka and square dancing. I am not a big fan of either. But its good to have variety so...

The thing that really stands out for me in the program is Mark Erelli is going to be playing the dance stage for the beginner/mixed level Western Swing on Thursday. I don't think one of my favorite artists has ever performed at teh dance stage before. I'll be there with bells on.
I'll be there with bells on.
Is that so we'll hear you coming and know to be careful about getting our feet stepped on? ;-} ok, so I looked at that file again, and you aren't as pompous as I thought you were. I only saw the saturday tab abd didn't realize there were others, and thought that for the whole festival, you had only picked about 3 music acts you wanted to see. just the general feeling of being so much above all the common folk and looking down your nose at the music. but the great part is that you can if you want to, and you'll be my friend anyway *hugs* that's great! I'm so happy for you, it's always nice to be respected. ;-P
I agree. Everything about Greg Brown was great except for his main stage set. It was a yawner.
