Student loans?

It's currently my only debt. With the interest rate so low on it, it's not really worth paying off.
i think i picked the wrong option. i chose no, don't have any, then read the posts and realized that we do have Josh's, so maybe i should have picked yes, and working on it. *shrugs* it's pretty much a non-issue.
hmm, seems you'd be grateful i worked hard enough to get that, seeing as how if i hadn't, we'd have two student loans to pay off. :-)

And according to Quicken, I'll be paying them off til 2019 at my current rate of payment. Go Me!

I've paid off my $30K's worth, but am still working on the one my dad took out for me.

i'm still paying off my loans, and considering i've had to default on them, what, three times already, i'll be paying them off til the day i die.

Had them, paid them off. Of course, it's easier to do when you only go for a year.

hrm. I have them, still using them.
will be a student until the end of time, apparently. *sigh* so I'm not sure when I'll start paying them back. probably in about 5-6 years or so. unless I take a few years to work teaching english in Japan. then I'll start paying them back sooner.
"will be a student until the end of time, apparently."
That's actually not a bad plan. I'm not sure if it's the same in Canada or not, but in the States, your student loans don't get passed on when you die, so if you stay in school your entire life, you'd never have to pay them back. Yes, I have considered this option :-)

yeah, how come there was no option for "I've taken them out but am currently using them."
that'd get my vote

I was torn between the getting through school without them and the too young to know options. Thanks to my parents I'll be getting a BA without taking out loans...but after that there's always grad school, so who knows?

How about "I am in school, currently accruing debt like crazy" Not looking forward to paying these off. Yech. i would say this is close enough to my answer, but i feel the need to elaborate (big shock... Snow belabours her point)... what about the "i went into serious default & the man is now taking all my money" option? no tax refunds & -15% of every pay until $20K is paid off. not bad for 2 years of college & getting a job that has absolutely nothing to do with those 2 years of ahem, hard study, eh?

Sorry, that's my favorite choice. I am in school now, accruing debt, but not paying anything back at this point.
Personally, I like grants better than loans, because I get to keep them. There should be more grants and less loans in the world. (Duh!)

I had to vote "other" too. I know, I know I should have put in the "still in school" option. Actually, I sort of did. Originally, I'd written, "Yes. I am currently or will eventually be paying them off" or something similar. I guess it was cut for space.
The reason I decided to submit this is because I'll have to take out some loans myself. I graduated last year, after getting a free ride, and got a BA (in communication), but it didn't really help much as far as opportunities go, if you know what I mean, so I'll be going back to school starting in June to try to get a hopefully more useful degree. The FAFSA people and my school frown upon awarding any kind of grant or scholoarship to people who are obtaiing a 2nd bachelors, so it's loans all the way this time. >_< {insert communication degree joke here} At least I didn't major in philosophy. ;P
Yeah, you realy don't see as many stand up philosiphers these days.

I made it through with only about $800 on a credit card on my graduation day. I had to live at home while going to school for 5 years but I did it (and I've had such a use for that theatre arts degree...) and now I'm working on purchasing a condo. Thank god I didn't go to a more expensive school or try to live on my own then 'cause I might still be living with them and trying to pay off that debt.
Debt is scary. You must first create an account to post.
