The Albums

   Discussion: The Albums

Hey everyone! While I was checking outa history of the group on Jian's site, I noticed that it said Fruvous is multi-platinum. I know that Bargainville went platinum, but what other albums went that way too? I just want to be able to brag about the Frulads successes.

Fruvous is multi-platinum because Bargainville is multi-platinum (sold more than 200,000 copies in Canada). However, I don't know if any of their other albums sold over 100k in Canada -- I think it's pretty safe to say that none of the others sold 1m units in the US :-)

Oh. Ok. Bargainville is multi-platinum. Wow. I don't even think that's their best album. That's a personal choice though. Thank you for the info. I will shut up now and stop bragging...;-D

Well, "best" and "best selling" are often completly different things ;-)

Actually, I'd say Fountians Of Wayne's Welcome Interstate Managers is the only album I can think of that matches both of those for me.

I'd argue that... just because I liked the red album better. *shrug* opinions hard at work.

Bargainville is the album that was the most radio friendly. It is the one that got the hype from Warner, because back then they thought Fruvous was a money maker. Fruvous' name is well known in Canada, because they had lots of airplay on muchmusic back in the Bargainville days. All that changed after wood came out. Today most Canadians will respond with "Moxy Fruvous? Oh yeah, I remember them. What ever happend to them?"
