I voted for Eric Idle, because he is my favorite in the actual series.

But Graham Chapman was the best in the movies
And John Cleese has the best post-python acting (Faulty Towers)
And Terry Jones has the best post-python writing
And Terry Gilliam also has great post-python writing as well as the best directing
And Michael Palin made the best post-python documentries.

And Douglas Adams wrote the best Dr. Who episodes ;-) [edited because I was half-awake when I first posted, and I knew I was forgeting one of the pythons, but they weren't on the list, so I just went ahead with what was there.]

For doing such wonderful and ludicrious stop-animation.

what about Michael Palin? the combination of him and John Cleese was what really made Monty Python great, IMO.
Gordondon son of Ethelred · 21 years, 3 months ago
Whoops, Josh can you insert him as a choice now?
100% dainty! · 21 years, 3 months ago
Yeah, come on!! Where is he? He was my favorite I think. Though I'm quite partial to Eric Idle. That's who I picked.

I'm with Lisa on this one.

Michael Palin all the way.
Andrea Krause Back · 21 years, 3 months ago

And me as well. He's hands-down my favorite and I was so sad not to see him on the list!

Shelly Back · 21 years, 3 months ago
yah.....michael palin is my fave, too, but i admit i am not as python-saavy as the rest of y'all, so i just thought he was a later addition......so i voted for john cleese.....{though it -was- a toss-up between him and eric idle...}

carry on ;)

My favorite Python? v2.2 was nice and stable, but v2.3 added a handy boolean variable type along with an enumerate() function.

Gordondon son of Ethelred Back · 21 years, 3 months ago
I voted for Pete Best because I forgot to put him in when I submitted a Python poll so I figure he took the place of Michael Palin, whom you forgot.
stealthlori Back · 21 years, 3 months ago
*gives leah love taps*

George E. Nowik · 21 years, 3 months ago

How could anyone forget to include God?!

Ok, so I actually voted for Eric Idle. But Michael Palin is a close second for me, if not an actual tie for favorite.

And word on Neil Innes as best honorary Python!

Alan Mendelsohn Back · 21 years, 3 months ago
No! Eric Idle! Not Michael Palin! Mostly because of England's Mountains Green. Hee!
Gordondon son of Ethelred Back · 21 years, 3 months ago
Michael Ellis
Alan Mendelsohn Back · 21 years, 3 months ago
