Wedding Gift Mix CD

   Discussion: Wedding Gift Mix CD
ChrisChin is Getting Old · 21 years, 5 months ago

So, I'm heading to this wedding in Richmond, VA for this really good friend of mine from grad school and in thinking about what to get the happy couple in addition to the main gift, I thought "How about a Mix CD?" I had a couple of songs in mind, but not enough to fill an entire CD. So does anyone have any ideas? Basically looking for folky happy love songs (does such beast exist?!?) or something not folky but in the celebrate love/lifetheme (oh god, this CD is going to be sappy!). Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Edited after I realized that I had a dangling verb.

"the luckiest," ben folds. "at my most beautiful," r.e.m. sam shaber's wedding song, if you can find it (i don't think it's on a cd yet, but it's my favorite of hers.
oh, and deirdre flint's bridesmaid dress song. :)

We used part of this song in our wedding ceremony (hope he's not an RIAA member, I'll probably get sued now).

Swept Away - Christopher Cross
Could I Have This Dance - Anne Murray
All the Time - Barry Manilow

If only you knew - Fruvous (that was actually our wedding song)

"The Promise" and "The Wedding Song"- Trace Chapman (Wedding Song is more upbeat)

Try Whisteling This - Neil Finn

"Anchor Me" and "While You Sleep" - Mutton Birds

"My Love" - Paul McCartney

ok those are pretty slow and sappy....but still beautiful

in the 'having rocks thrown at you' stoned..not...well, the -other- way......

~'i believe in happy endings' by neil diamond. my friends just used that as their wedding song. tis great.

~'i will hold on' by...um.....those mocks-eye fruvious fellers????{*g*} don't hit me. i know it's been deemed sorta skeery psycho obsessive, but it's sweet, too.{o/' i hold the hope that we won't part o/'

~IF you have/have access to julie's{murphy wells...not that -you- wouldn't know that, chris :) } 'no rules'CD, she wrote a GREAT, BEAUTIFUL song named 'all i ask' to perform at her sister's wedding then also put it on the CD. it really is great

~'woman of faith'~by...um.....?????..EFO??? *g* sir schaef just rox.

~'one' by the same people. again. can't beat sir s.

'i wanna marry you' by sir bruce springsteen. well, he's not a knight. but he SHOULD be :) the song is not as sassy and high-brow as, maybe 'all i ask', but the sentiment is great

and...of course....

~'the best of me' by EFO LMAO!!!

Yes! Absolutely! If I had to pick a wedding song right this second it would be that one. It's the sweetest song ever and it's my favourite!

*prepares to be laughed at by the entire board, except maybe for Shelly*
