Here's the deal. Fruvous ends the hiatus and you win the Make the setlist contest You mission should you choose to accept it is to make up a 20 song setlist for Fruvous' return from hiatus show. You can choose any song they've recorded or performed plus one cover song they've never done if you like. Extra points for being considerate to Dave and putting the accordion songs and banjo songs together.
wow. that's challenging. but here's my attempt at it:
I'll have to ponder this some more.... I like what Lawrence picked, but it seems like it would be QUITE a mellow concert. I'd almost throw a "runner up" or two in there just to wake up the list! :D ~J~
Set 1:
Sahara (120 minute extended jam)
Encore: Sahara Reprise
Oh, and I suppose you want them to come in on a flying hotdog too!
they don't need to do that, as long as they get tom hanks to sing the bridge section.
I'd like Fruvous for the return from the hiatus to rock out more, a la the Dave & The Chia Pets show. Here is what I'd like:
The Gates
Liposuction Secret Asian Man Heather Graham I Wish I Were Title Of The Song Request-O-Rama Internet Porn Another Irish Drinking Song Saggy Diaper Blues Enormous Penis What A Wonderful World Encore: Mickey Mouse Club (hey, i've spent 3 years bugging DVN to sing Fruvous songs...it's time the tables were turned a bit. i make my own fun.) ROCK! hee! :) *tries to imagine what fruvous singing the mickey mouse club song DVN-stylee would sound like* :D Alright, I had to go pick some songs: Extended Sahara Encore: OK, I don't think I could narrow my choices down to 20, but I DO know they would include "Splatter Splatter," "Complainte D'Un Phoque" and "You're Gonna Lose That Girl" so I had to just say woot to this list.
You Will Go To The Moon
Get In The Car Present Tense Tureen Half As Much On Her Doorstep Nuits De Rve Boo Time Heatseeker Boy Incredible Medicine Show Poor Mary Lane Lee Sahara Green Eggs and Ham Video Bargainville Michigan Militia Bead and Breakfast Fly King of Spain My Poor Generation Minnie the Moocher
The important part to me is that they pledge to never again play "Sad Girl" :-)

I said Darlington Darling is one of my favorites, not No No Raja.
DD is on my list. No No almost made the cut. It might if I did it again.
...and Britney Spears is my favorite singer
No one who thinks of them as not insipid.
I'd might have included Splatter Splatter but why ruin a perfect record. yeah, good songs Gordon, but a fluffy concert that list would make. ~J~

Okay, because there are two many songs to choose from I make only one requirement:
It HAS TO HAS TO HAS TO have "Lazlo's Career" in it. That's one of my top five and I have yet to hear it live. I know, I'm weird. :o)
Swing it, You missed it, we played that during one of the Frucon 6 jams. :) I actually have it recorded, but it wasn't good enough to make the Frucon 6 Sessions CDs. Although if it had been performed better ( Mainly by me), it would have been awesome. It certainly had potential.

Well I've never heard them do "GOtta Get a Message to You", "Bed and Breakfast", "On Her Doorstep" , or "Fell In Love" live so any of those would be definitely on my list. And "Down From Above" "Bittersweet" "Misplaced" "Homeward Bound" "Follow the Road" "Poor Napoleon" "Love Set Fire" "Horseshoes" and ending with "Early Morning Rain"
And as for other, new covers, I'd always thought there was a lot of crossover potential between MF and Squeeze, but since MF did a bit of "Tempted" at Frucon, that's done.
*sigh* I'd never heard GTGAMTY live so they sang it for me at the house party. I never heard it again.

REMEMBER: this is a dream setlist, it wouldn't really happen! Set 1: Entirely A Capella! alright my dream setlist really didnt turn out like my dream setlist. because my real dream setlist would have upwards of 40 songs, including a cover of TMBG's Istanbul not Constantinople, beware the killer tents, blow wind blow, minnie the moocher, faster medicine show, pisco bandito, bittersweet, morphee, and many more! and maybe they could write a fruhead song just for me and play it at the show.
