   Discussion: Wanted: Jazz Pianist

I am looking for a Jazz Pianist for a Tribute/benefit CD.  If anyone is interested contact me at [email protected]

lol andy, don't call it a tribute cd! that implies that he's dead! that's just the point, he DIDN'T die! :-p
Eri Back · 21 years, 11 months ago
*scratches head* since when do you have to be dead for it to be a tribute CD? "Going Driftless: An Artists' Tribute to Greg Brown" comes to mind... guy's still alive and kicking, and just got married. :)

Agreed... plenty of tribute cds have been made for musicians who are alive and well...

*puzzled look at beth*

I have tributes for Bob Dylan and Depech Mode.  I have two different ones for Tori Amos.  Lets not forget the second Elvis Costello tribute is coming out soon.  And I still need a Jazz Pianist!

Beth, What were you thinking?

> Lets not forget the second Elvis Costello tribute

And the Burt Bacharach tribute I'm listening to at this moment, with an Elvis Costello tune on it!

Beth, are you on crack? ;-)
Eri Back · 21 years, 11 months ago
Awww.... some of those posts started to sound snippy... *HUGS BETH LOTS*
nate... Back · 21 years, 11 months ago
Bacharach... ye gods, how dare you even say his name in a forum of people who like music. *shudder*

I wish beth's definition of "tribute" were accurate for him.

:D

Beth rocks the house.  She's always happy to be Julie when I want to play some EFO!

Wait a minute. You have two Tori Amos tributes?! I just find that...weird. Carry on. ;)
J. Andrew World Back · 21 years, 11 months ago

Yes, one had Voltaire on it (He ended up releacing the song on his Album "boo-Hoo") and the other is a string quartet doung Tori songs (With alittle drum bass and keyboards to spice it up)

Why do you find that weird?

theri quite contrary Back · 21 years, 11 months ago
I just didn't peg you as a Tori fan, that's all. Which song did Voltaire do? I must hear it. ;)
beth-pseudocanuck! Back · 21 years, 11 months ago

that's because i want to be julie when i grow up.

thanks for all the hugs, guys.

i guess i just think of a tribute as a post-career, if not post-life thing. at least way later in the career than i'd like to think RW is. *shrug*

or maybe i'm just on crack. :-p

love you all! :) FRFF COME SOONER!!!

I am not a Tori fan.  Acually I hate her marketing stradigy and her hardcore fans.  Especually the ones who feel if you have a vigina and play the piano you are ripping off Tori Amos.  However she is a good song writer.

Voltaire did "Caught a light Sneeze"  It's a goth tribute album with Glampire (I love that name) Unto Ashes,  Amber Asylum,  Tapping the Vein, and many others.   If you want I can send you an mp3 of the song!
