How can you not know what that is?!

I went to a coffee stand this morning to buy coffee, umm.. as opposed to going to the coffee stand to buy a sweater I guess. Anyhow! I asked for a Grande Caff Medici, and they had no idea what that was! I was trying to describe it to them, but ended up just getting a black coffee, because the barista was a moron. Well, not a moron, that's not nice, but she didn't know what my favorite drink was and I was dissapointed. After we left the coffee stand my friend Steve asked me what a Caff Medici was. Wow, he doesn't know either? So I explained it to him. Now I'm wondering, am I the only person on earth who knows what that is??
Well if it's not on their regular menu, and the barista has only ever served coffee at that particular store / chain, then chances are that the barista won't be able to make it. Perhaps they don't even have orange peel in stock.
The moral of the story is: don't try new coffee joints when you are really craving your favourite drink.
yeah, I have worked in the Coffee world for 5 years, and have no idea what "doppio" is..
but for Johnathan: Tall=small Grande=medium Caffe=coffee barista=one who makes the drink
still, I have never heard "doppio".
and I studied the whole Seattle thing for a year! strange! heh, anyway, we had fun with the lingo when I was a "barista", this is the way we called the drinks out to each other: No fun = Decaf On a leash = to go Skinny = skim milk (or low fat) Thick = whole milk beany = soy Hach = Hot Chocolate Head = milk foam So you could order a tall skinny latte on a leash with no head! ~J~
yeah, I didn't work at Starbucks..I worked for 4 companies in competition with them! heh!
My last barista job was on a commuter train.. it was a pain trying to pour hot milk on a train in a "closet" fun times! I got burned once really bad, poured hot tea all over myself when the brakes kicked in at one of the stops! After that I started to time the stops, so I wouldn't get hurt! ~J~
Yay Spot. I used to go there all the time (downtown Bflo branch). But now I live two days from it...
oops!
I meant Lee-Lee! (for some reason, I looked at Molly, and saw Melissa! "I need my medication now, nurse") *smooch* ~J~
yeah...
and if they have all the stuffs to make it, it's no problem to whip up. and true.......the cashier may be a bit confuddled, but they always find a price! heh! ~J~
Sorry again!
I have spelling/typing issues! For 3 years now I've been calling Nitsa...Nista! LOL! ~J~
yeah, she's the one! heh!
heh, when Rod and I had been married for a year..or something..not very long, I would say "I'm sorry" about 100 times a day (no idea why) so Rod started pleading "stop saying you're sorry for everything..unless you really are" heh! It's a gift, it's a gift..I don't talk about it much... oh, and Sorry, again! LOL ~J~
yeah...
but we're darn cute! as Michael would say..."Prulie? have you been eating muchrooms off the lawn again?" heh! You must first create an account to post.
