Supergroups

There is talk of Murray replacing Darryl in GBS. I'm sure we'd all love to see that. He has already toured with them in Europe. That got me thinking, if you could form a supergroup out of members of different bands who would be in it?

I feel lucky cause I've already gotten to see neat combinations of the musicians I like playing together. Matthew Sweet always pulls the cool guys to tour with him, his last tour included Ric (the drummer on "Girlfriend") and Paul from Velvet Crush, Buck from Tal Bachman's band... he always gets great lead guitarists too... also in the 90s there was a supergroups called Golden Smog that had members of the Jayhawks, Wilco and the Honeydogs... lots of people I like know each other so it rocks. :):):):) How about a "Shatter the Glass" tour with Martin Sexton and the Nields girls? That would be fun!!!!

He *has* replaced Darryl, at least for this tour - which started Jan 31 in Oshawa (and I found out about Feb 1 *whine*).

I think my construction of a supergroup would depend on the size limit - it's hard to decide who to leave out!

It has come up in circles that this supergroup would do nothing but talk, never playing a song. EVER. Did we ever give this supergroup a name?

It isn't a supergroup but DVN is a group that does nothing but talk. I've heard rumours that the actualling sing some songs but I think it's a myth :-)

I remember them apologizing at the last Knitting Factory show for the previous one where they sang all of 5 songs because they talked so much. It was the show when you tossed Bernie some Ritalin.

but not >play as in jian's >play.

could we have supergroups with super band members? i mean, as in people who look like one person and play like another. for example: elijah wood playing accordion like dave-o. hehehehe:D

(actually for some reason that just conjured up this weird image of legolas playing a neon pink six-string bass. LOL!!)
