Falcon Ridge 2003 dates
Celebrating 15 years of Folk Music & Dance in the Berkshires on July 24, 25, 26, 27. Yup, 2003 marks the fifteenth anniversary of Falcon Ridge. We have expanded to 4 days and plan to bring back many former FRFF alumnae this year, more updates will be added to our website shortly at www.FalconRidgeFolk.com.
After 20 consecutive years, our second event, the Winterhawk Bluegrass and Beyond Fest will take a hiatus while we look for a new date, one that is at the very least one full month or more away from Falcon Ridge and possibly a new location as well. We hope to being Winterhawk back in 2004. Check for updates at www.Winterhawk2000.com.

2002 Showcase Results
Here are the results of the FRFF audience surveys for the Top 3 Showcasers the audience would like to see return in 2003. Congratulations to all of our 2002 emerging artists for fine showing! All had fans, some brand new, that voted for them.
In addition to an automatic invite to do the Most Wanted Song Swap and workshop appearances at next year's fest, the top voted artists are also invited to do our annual spring preview tour in early May. This will be our sixth one. More details on that will be available shortly on our website and in the next E newsletter.
From just under 1500 total surveys completely filled out this year with 790 of them voting for their fave showcasers, the results are:
1 - We're About 9 - garnering votes from 41% of the audience
2 - Girlyman - with 27%
3 - Rachael Davis - with 25%
Honorable mentions to many very strong contenders this year, most notably Antje Duvekot who finished fourth followed by Cadence Carroll, Wishing Chair, Stephanie Corby and Don Conoscenti. Five very strong honorable mentions this year. That's quite a large number. Wish we could do 3 different preview tours. All of the above had more than 10% of the votes cast. In other words, it was a really fabulous showcase year.

SO, what do we think? YAY for 4 days, eh?? this year's going to ROCK.
let's all hope for a few things:
1. we can get off work long enough to attend all 4 days.
2. the ticket prices don't jump too much.
3. we can all tolerate being sweaty and gross and generally unshowered for *4* days instead of just 3.
LET THE PLANNING AND PINING BEGIN! :-D
