It's nearly imposible to avoid gelatin (Mar 22, 2003 @ 2:13pm) «Talcott» Ok. My roommate just tried to convince me that all American news is biased, but Russian news always tells the truth (Mar 22, 2003 @ 2:14pm) «Talcott» not quite as bad as the russian news though. I don't mind that he thinks it's biased, I do too, but he needs to accept that russia isn't any better (Mar 22, 2003 @ 2:15pm) «Talcott» his basis for it being biased is that it doesn't say what the always-right russian news is saying. No country is flawless when it comes to bias (Mar 22, 2003 @ 2:16pm) «Talcott» it's like using Fox news to show how everything has a liberal bias. Even if there is one, fox news is as skewered, if not more so (Mar 22, 2003 @ 2:16pm) «Talcott» Of ocurse the news around here is downplaying and harm to civilians in the war, but of course Iraq and the news in countries opposed to it are inflating (or putting more emphasis) the same numbers (Mar 22, 2003 @ 2:18pm) «Talcott» He also claims that any news source that's in English is going to be slanted pro-war. (sorry, ususaly his naive nationalism does't bother me, and we all know I bash Bush and things about the states, but this is really bugging me of late) (Mar 22, 2003 @ 2:20pm) «Talcott» See, I'm mostly against the war out of a lack of trust in the people running it. But at this point, I just want it over and done with. (Mar 22, 2003 @ 2:23pm) «Talcott» For what it's worth, it has been handled better than I expected. Even the casualty numbers from Iraq are less than I expected the lower estimates to be (Mar 22, 2003 @ 2:24pm) «Talcott» (ooh! Lacy (who has a car) said she'd be up for seeing Dan Bern tonight, so it looks like I'll be able to go!) (Mar 22, 2003 @ 2:25pm) «Talcott» I think they are. If things turn bad, then the leaders who gave up might treated worse (ie: interegated) but I do think that at the ground level, there is a comrodery between soilders (Mar 22, 2003 @ 2:26pm) «Talcott» It's not like arresting a terror suspect here where there's a feeling of individual blame. (Mar 22, 2003 @ 2:27pm) «Talcott» And while I think our leaders are insane, I don't think the individuals who are fighting on either side are (Mar 22, 2003 @ 2:28pm) «Talcott» that would be nice, but I don't think it will be perfect. (Mar 22, 2003 @ 2:28pm) «Talcott» I can't say I'm calm at all (Mar 22, 2003 @ 2:30pm) «Talcott» I think it's the calm after the storm for you though (Mar 22, 2003 @ 2:31pm) «Talcott» like a dating service? (Mar 22, 2003 @ 2:33pm) «Talcott» or to find a plce to live? Or to find someone you've lost contact with? (Mar 22, 2003 @ 2:34pm) «Talcott» ah...no, I don't.. (Mar 22, 2003 @ 2:34pm) «Talcott» I assume you've tried just googling the name (Mar 22, 2003 @ 2:36pm) « Previous 100 entries | Next 100 entries »
