Time for the second in this series of polls. No Smokey Robinson jokes.
Samantha · 20 years, 8 months ago
I witnessed one when I made it through highschool alive.

I don't believe in supernatural miracles or religious miracles, but I believe that things exist the can be described as miraculous, like if the Cubs won the World Series...

So basically miracle for YOU is pretty much synonymous with contradicting high probabilities, right? Or beating big odds. However it's more technically stated. It's not the fact or occurrence itself so much as the fact/occurrence in conjunction with the likelihood of its happening.

It's probably pretty much in line with how I use the term "miracle". I am not a spiritual person and I think I'd have to first find that in myself before I could subscribe to the concept of a miracle as indicated biblically.

exactly. there's also the qualification that the result has to be something generally positive (but I suppose that's obvious :).

although I wonder if there's such a thing as a "tragic miracle."

Would that be something like Creed breaking up?
Samantha Back · 20 years, 8 months ago

well, I wouldn't call that a miracle... but it's certainly something to thank god for:)

a-f*cking-men, baby. a-f*cking-men. couldn't have said it better myself.

i think that somehow, on some level or another, this falls into a similar catagory of religion (i decided not to post some sort of longwinded/similiar-sounding post on the religion thread), in how it's all about your faith. nothing that cannot be proven/disproven by scientific means leaves nothing but faith, as far as i'm concerned. a particular event that would make someone believe in some sort of supernatural/surpeme being would generally have to be something incorporating a reasonable amount of faith to begin with. i'm both really hyper and half asleep right now, i really hope i'm making some sense to some people on some level or another. eek.

The best line in the film "Oh God." George Burns as God says, "My last miracle was the 69 Mets."
Paul Back · 20 years, 8 months ago
or the red sox beat the yankees win the AL east the AL Championship and then the world series against the mets

I think it was a miracle that I was able to weasel my way out of going to that Nickelback concert...

Also, another miracle, one that I'm living right now. Hi.
