How about "I like them, but never put that much thought into how they were prepared"? ;-)

They're good on pizza. Particuarly with spinich.
And Hugh's Room has a great artichoke dip.

Hmm... now I'm getting hungry ;-)

Artichokes feature heavily in my cooking. In this past week we've had them steamed whole (Tuesday) and canned lemony ones on the pizza we made last night. Yummmm. I love them both ways. If I just want artichokes, I steam the big'uns. If the ones at the grocery store look skanky and good fresh ones aren't to be had, I work the canned hearts into other meals. Notably pizza and pasta dishes. I never use the oil/spice marinated ones. They just don't do it for me.

We have a mild panic in this house if we aren't stocked with cans of artichoke hearts. :)

...oddly enough, one of the best dips I've had was plain yoghurt and mayo, with chives.... oh so yummy!

They are good steamed and eaten with butter as an appetizer. That's all I have to say...

Stop buying the canned ones and get the frozen ones from Trader Joe's. They're wonderful. :)
Andrea Krause Back · 21 years, 1 month ago

Yeah I need to do that too but I LIKE the lemonyness. :)

Oh, and I saw on Trader Joe's website something about artichoke ravioli. Gimme.

dood.

absolutely.

spinach artichoke dip.

package frozen spinach.
can or jar artichoke hearts.
package cream cheese.
mayo.
paprika
garlic

heat and mix and use as a dip for corn chips. also good with other cheeses mixed in, curds work very well as does a pre-shredded italian blend.
