For "No, that would be dumb... but... they're HILARIOUS to watch!!!"

...I came very close to buying a Shark Sweeper when I saw it at the grocery store this summer ;-)

It has Wall Hugging Technology(TM)!
And holds as much as it holds!

I actually ordered that hair removal goop called Nads. Not from the infomercial itself- from their website. But I was inspired by the commercials. And well, not only does the stuff not work, peeling it off was just darn painful. I don't think I really expected it to work as well as they claimed, but I thought it might pick up a little hair!

I'm usually not that gullible about products, but apparently being lured by infomercials runs in my family-- my sister got me an Ove-Glove for Christmas. I have yet to find out if you really can change a lightbulb while it's still burning (though why you'd bother is beyond me) without scorching your hand. I doubt I ever will know.

Dude.. you haven't even heard their "jingle" (the product's theme song, I mean.)

Holy crap.. I have never heard a more cheery song about the ball sack.

thanks,

I've often been tempted by Nads.

now I know not to be.

No, but I was vaguely tempted by the Shark Sweeper as Talcott mentioned. I mean, come on, it sucks nuts.

My mom is a product junkie, though. She has all sorts of that stuff. And I have to admit some of it is pretty darn cool. Probably the best thing she bought is one of those indoor rotisserie machines. It's yummy.

OK, first talk of nads and now sucking nuts. Y'all are a sick bunch! I don't think I can associate with you people anymore! :)

I bought the CDs "Time Life's Sounds of the 70s 1975-1979" When Rex Smith was hosting the half hour commercial.

But that wasn't a mistake purchase since I still listen to the CDs all the time. 1975 and 1979 are my favorites. :D

In a moment of summer-boredom weakness Ibought Victoria Jackson cosmetics thru an infomercial about 10 years ago. They're actually pretty good. At the time, her foundation and powder was the only really lightweight AND hypoallergenicstuff out there at a reasonable price. Now there are more options in that area ... and I tend not to wear eye makeup much anymore ... and there's really only so much lipstick and blushone girl can use .... so I haven't boughtanything from VJ forthe past few years.

But I would again, if I were running out of something around the timethe catalog arrived in the mail.

A few years ago I bought the Murad skin care collection - and it workedpretty well, although I didn't really keep up with the whole 5 step regimen. They sell it at Sephorastores now, and I've bought one of the products since - a night-time blemish cream.

Murad's biggest fault is that it can't do anything with the components of a disassembled bologna sandwich.

I bought the Angela-from-who's-the-boss acne treatment a few years ago and quickly discovered that not only did it not work, but i was going through the "month supply" in about 10 days. The worst part was, when you buy the stuff, they take down your info and automatically send you a month supply every month. After i decided not to waste my money on it anymore, it took them about 4 months to stop sending it to me. I called them and asked them to stop sending it to me because i wasn't interested anymore and they'd still send. then i'd stick a "return to sender" on it and they'd send it right back to to me.
stealthlori Back · 21 years, 2 months ago
actually, i bought that from a mail-order magazine insert. it works pretty well for me and andrew. we have a big backlog of the stuff though, so i cancelled his account.

Oh, Josh I feel your pain. My mom swears by her FoodSaver. She's also an e-bay junkie... And buys all her FoodSavery accessories on it. My poor mommy.

I, also, voted no. But I have been quite tempted. Even by the relaxing conditioner for African-American Hair... :o/
Josh Woodward Back · 21 years, 2 months ago
Yep, mine's a FoodSaver junkie, too. And she has this bad habit of upgrading to the latest trinket, and giving us the old one. So we now have a perfectly functional FoodSaver. Not that we have bags or anything for it, but hey. :)

i bought them...i love them...even though the handles are scarily fake feeling....

the thing is...last year we didn't have cable...and hungover chaya would search for something to watch when she came downstairs upon waking on late weekend mornings and early weekend afternoons...only to find INFOMERICALS...so i started getting really addicted to them!
