well, how do you *become* messiah, then? actually, i'm voting for meaning of life. because it never gets any attention or respect. and while it is overblown and a lot of it falls flat, it's still got some of the funniest scenes i've ever seen. it's worth it for "every sperm is scared" alone.

yeah, ok, so this movie was just a compilation of flying circus sketches, but still... and what about Live at the Hollywood Bowl? or is that also considered to be a cousin of Flying Circus?

either way, their movies, while they are very good, just don't live up to the standard they set with their TV shows. maybe I just have a short attention span...

I totally agree with you, I think Python works best in sketch format, sometimes dragging the joke out over the length of a film rather than the length of a sketch just kills the joke for me. Or maybe we both have really short attention spans.

Exactly! Every movie they made tended to draaaag. It's much better in sketch format.

Ooh! Ooh! How To Irritate People!

how to irritate people doesn't count...it's not actually python. it's also not as funny as it should be. even with all the pythons who are in it.

Yeah, "How to Irritate People" was a disappointment. I wanted to laugh, I really did, but it just wasn't funny.

I have never seen Monty Python. I still haven't figured out if he's a singer, actor, or playwright. The little knowledge I have of him is from people spouting inane references. Me=not a Python fan. now I know people will *really* egg my tent at FRFF :-)

Stace - Monty Python is a comedy troupe, from England. Came out in the 70's. You really need to see Holy Grail. Rent it. Trust me....

Ooh! This was a toughie. I LOVE Holy Grail, but I think overall Life of Brian is a better movie. But then again....Michael Palin as Galahad is *too* cute.....argh....nope, still gotta go with Life of Brian. The Holy Grail computer game is fun though - although I can't get past the killer rabbit *g*

I'm glad Live At The Hollywood Bowl wasn't listed
as a choice, because I'd be really torn. It's all
good, really, but I prefer the shorter sketch format.
Of the feature films, though, I think Life Of Brian is
the best one.
