I'd still need reading glasses if I had the surgery, I might still consider it if my insurance paid for it.
Some people have on eye set for reading and the other for distance so they don't need glasses at all. You lose binocular vision then.

dude. i'm so afraid of anything touching or even getting near my eyes, i won't even wear contacts. i don't mind wearing glasses -- i like the way i look with them better than without them. everyone should wear glasses. amen.
You do look cute in your glasses. How do I look in my glasses? Less yucky than without them?
I don't want the surgery for looks, it is for convenience and comfort. I'd still wear my super cool sunglasses.
*snork*
yeah, your supercool sunglasses, which are almost as cool as your supercool bifocals.
Same here. I can't even get drops.
Plus, I like that I can see things naturally. Flawed as it may be, my world is fuzzy. Yes, I prefer to be able to see things clearly, but it's that I can see the natural way that is key for me. That wouldn't be an argument against glasses, but it is against surgery.

...in September 1999 when it cost an arm and a rib. The technology is better now and it is much cheaper.
No side effects, no problems. If you're the nervous type at the dentist be sure to have your doctor give you a muscle relaxant. Otherwise you'll spend the time gripping the operating table in fear. That being said the actual procedure only takes around 20 minutes per eye. Less time than a dental filling!
The thing that convinced me that it was safe was when Wade Boggs had the surgery. His livelihood depended on his vision and he trusted it.
Lots of athletes have had it. In fact I've read that they often get overcorrected to 20/15 or better. I had to settle for 20/20.

I can not stand the thought of it....I don't really mind wearing glasses and I have to wear safety glasses at work anyway
Im not sure if they have the infomercial for eye planing in the states. But here in Canada they play it almost every night and its sooo creepy it gives me nightmares. nothing is allowed near my eyes not even contacts You must first create an account to post.
