Would you use a "Book Picks" section?

Books were the first thing that came to mind -- this would be a page just like
the music page where Fruheads could review other things. Please pipe in if you
have other ideas!

How about just a culture-in-general section. Books, movies, theater, television,
computer games... I mean, if I'm looking to be entertained, I don't particularly
care what medium it utilizes.

... that we read any variety of books. *grin* With the exception of Mists of Avalon
and Die Upon a Kiss, I haven't read anything that wasn't Star Wars in years... :P
So, I'd take a look, but there wouldn't be much of a point in me adding anything,
except maybe as a way of keeping track of how many I've still yet to read... hey...
maybe I like the idea after all. ;)

Fruheads bond over all sorts of media... i mean, hell... 28% of fruhead
conversation involves Mony Python and Doug Adams, know what I'm saying?

*jumps in with the English major posse*
I'm all for this idea! Of course, in the end it will just mean even more books on my "I really need to read this" list, but that's better than not having enough. I like the idea of expanding it out to all cultural aspects too. When we eventualy get some sort of forum/message board on here they can be topics on there too. (responding to polls in here has made me even more interested in getting those those, but now I'm completly off topic).

Lit. Studies majors are cooler! (Mostly because no one knows what that means...)
O:) But yeah, I've been noticing my "books I absolutely need to read" pile has
been diminishing now that I have time to read them, so I'm all for building it back
up! *Grin. (And, of course, sharing my vast knowledge of recommendable books
would be fun...yes, I am kidding, I'm not really that snotty. But whatever. Book
list=good.)
And then there's me, Who's going for a degree in Linguistics, but the Linguistics
department is part of which faculty... hmm. I do believe it's part of the English
faculty.
So yah. I consider myself part of the English posse. Of course if we want to get all elitist and shit here on FHDC, I guess that's possible, but do any of us really want that? I hope not. And I'm guessing there's more than 'no one' who knows what a Lit. Studies major is, because then you would know naught of what you spake. And I'm also guessing that the department of the university that offers a degree in Lit Studies would know what it was, otherwise, well, how would they define the credentials? Semantics! YAY!

We need a book pics section so that more people can learn the glory that is
Jurgen.
or totally reject it like everyone but Renita. Maybe I'll recommend calculus books instead.
Jurgen sucks, and Cabell couldn't write his way out of a paper bag. That's all.
That's really cool!
When I took linguistics (just a general overview) this past spring, it all just made so much sense to me. It was the most interesting class I've taken in a long time Plus, you get to learn all sorts of words that sound either really technical, or just really dirty (ya know, like the name for the sound the letter F makes ;) What direction are you taking with linguistics anyways? So what is a lit studies major?
Why do I like you again? Is anybody that cute? Well anybody but Maura?
Dude, not even Maura would be able to get thru Jurgen.
