Mike Ford Solo CDs too, i guess?? I need some new music, they good?

you should be able to pick them all at maplemusic.com Dave's and Mike's Cds are phenomal. Jian's doesn't get as much play for me, but is also pretty decent.

second that on Dave's CD especially.

A third on Dave's! It's in constant rotation in my CD player. In fact, I think I'll listen to it now!

Throw a 4th on Dave's. I listen toit when I'm feeling stressy and it's part of my chilling out at the end of the day routine.

Fifthed on Dave's. Incredible.

And Jian's is good, though uneven like Talcott said. My favorites are "Quebec City" and "Astronaut", which play nicely into my power-pop sweet tooth.

Oh right.
I liked Jian's too.  Not all of it, but I liked more than I disliked.
Talcott Back · 18 years, 10 months ago
I think the problem with Jian's CD is that it's very uneven. There are some strong songs (Astronaut, which could almost be a Tall New Buildings song- in a good way) and some weaker songs (Lousy Boy which bothers me, in part, because it tries to make not having a gun sound like a rebellious stance for a Canadian folk singer, a notoriously well-armed group ;-) The thing is, there are only six songs to judge, and they all feel a bit like demos. I think that the full album could be really good if it ever comes out.

I'll agree with pretty much everyone here in saying that Dave's CD is great.

Sadly, I still need to get Mike's albums, but I've only heard good things about them.

It's not solo, but you can also hear Murray on Great Big Sea's recent stuff. I don't think he's written anything for them though (but I'd love it if someone could correct me on that)

Got some sticky keys?  Have you tried switching out your keyboard with a different one to alleviate the problem?

I think you have a sticky brain!

Oh, you definitely need to get Mike's CDs -- he's my favourite songwriter of the group.  And last year, I finally got to see him in concert!  (At Hugh's Room here in Toronto.)  Sadly, I got into MF too late to see the whole band together, but I've seen Dave, Mike and Murray on stage multiple times by now.

As far as CDs, there's a side project you'd want called "Ground Crew" that Dave is a part of (and was the first place I saw him live) -- he does opening gigs for tapings of  CBC television show called "Royal Canadian Air Farce" as part of this twosome -- you can get their disc from the CBC, though I don't know if it's listed in their online store, you may have to call.  (Actually, the info on how to get one is in this page: http://forums.airfarce.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=1&t=000284)

Also, there's a great (but now defunct) countryish group called The Jane Waynes that Murray played bass for -- I'd recommend their disc highly.  (http://thejanewaynes.com/)

Other than that, I'm really hoping that Great Atomic Power releases a CD soon!
