They are the perfect band to take a date to, and
are a great alternative to the shows I usually go
to. I was happy to get to see them at Frucon this
past February.

come on, people! oOi know, oh-oh, i'm breakin' on

How you forget
o/~ swimming pooooooooooooool of crisis o/~ *snort* But still.. Trumpet!Tory! UprightBass!Murray! Piano!Jeff! You can't go wrong with the Lesters :) (For Jian you'd have to put side project*s* anyway, besides Play there's supposed to be another show (not live) showing on CBC in Jan and Feb.. plus the solo cd (which he may eventually finish), plus being Martina's manager)

C'mon!!! Have you seen this man live??? The guitar
becomes an extension of his body. He is brilliant.
Not to mention the nicest guy. and sometimes he
has Murray play bass for him. which just adds to
the overall goodness.
Go Dave! we -all- know he rocks the casbah.

I picked Dave, because I LOVE his record, but
when Mike does his CD we can have another poll
and add him to it. ;-)

Ok...i guess i've really been out of the
loop...Who/What is Bole?....oh yeah...and my vote
is for The Lesters.
amy c
Bole is the name the lads used when they were road
testing songs for Wood, so that they wouldn't need
to put up with a million screaming girls throwing
their bras onstage during Down From Above.
o/~ whether bras from screaming girls or the
threat of god's love, there'll always be something
that's raining...... o/~
what I want to know is if they ever played Sad Today or Bed and Breakfast on that "tour." but didn't anyone realise quickly that it was Fruvous, and like, let everyone else know? or was that more of a challenge then, given that the internet wasn't what it is now?
o/~ now there's a bra, upon your
forehead o/~
Maybe they were completly incognito. I'm sure Mike probably had a big hat, and sunglasses, and Jian might have put streaks in his hair or something. Maybe Murray and Dave even cut their hair (Dave more than Murray) Um...yeah...well, it amused me at least ;)
I always assumed that they just didn't play any
Fruvous material when they played as Bole, so even
if someone did recognize them, it wouldn't be
worth telling all their teenybopper friends to go
see them because they were just playing depressing
wood music. Also I don't think they really
"toured" much as Bole, just played some dates
fairly close to home.
Disclaimer: I actually know nothing of the Bole era. All of the forgoing is merely my educated conjecture.

I could proceed to list the myriad reasons I love
Dave's solo album, but I'd rather just pop it in and
have a nice long listen.

Fordy's planning a CD of the Canadian history stuff
he's been doing. The songs are supposed to be
great, and some fabulous musicians are excited
about singing/playing on it. Personally, I can't
wait. You just -know- it's going to be awesome!

My heart will always belong to Jian. He's so
dreamy. :*)
I love his solo stuff, even if he did make a lousy
boy. His new songs are so gorgous. I LOVE MY
JIAN!
- Ji girl forever
Dakota
p.s. Kiss Me Jian!
I agree Jian is very talented. But...Dave! Jian is
very...extroverted and wild, but Dave is so laid
back and calm and cool. And he has such great use
of metaphor!
o/~ It's a lazy sunday morning, and I'm trying to sleep in, you're running around like Santa's only elf...aint it funny, you remind me of myself o/~ Dave-o's still the King. of Spain -AND- FruLand :) You must first create an account to post.
