Some thoughts about Facebook and FHDC

I like Facebook.  It took me a really long time to get on it, and since then I've reconnected with lots of friends from the past and with some distant relatives. 

But because of that, I've had to censor myself somewhat.  A bit for innuendo and tasteless jokes, but mostly for oddball strangeness. 

Which is why I miss hanging out on FHDC.  Here I could be bizarre and silly and all those things, and not worry so much.  I mean, I have no illusion that I was particularly anonymous here - besides photos of me, I think my email address is available to registered users, and that's got my real name.  But whomever reads what I've written would either have to be here already or purposefully seek it out. 

So I'm going to keep on using Facebook, but I'm also going to come back here more often.  Maybe we could freshen up the place a bit.  A new coat of paint, some brand-spankin' new polls, maybe an inflamatory remark or two.

I was recently writing how FB is the closest thing that I have now to what FHDC used to be. The difference is that I don't really make new friends on FB much. It isn't a community but it is a great way of keeping in touch with people. I compare it to wolves howling to keep in contact with the pack.

Yes most definitely agree with you guys. I honestly don't know why there ISN'T a Moxy Fruvous fan page on Facebook yet. There's a Fruhead group, A 'Q' with Jian Ghomeshi group, even a Jian Ghomeshi fan page, but NONE for Fruvous? What gives? If Facebook weren't so strict with people being "offical representatives" of the product they're making the page of, I'd totally create one (or I would make one and not publish it). That one and The Pursuit of Happiness fan page too.
