Maybe we should just skip to the first side of Flood at this point? I mean, there's just no way anything from side 2 of Lincoln will come close to beating Ana Ng. (In fact, I'd say there's a good chance it'll win the whole thing. Either that or it'll lose to Birdhouse. But if those don't end up being the top 2, I will be extremely surprised.)
oh this is a relief. we've been agreeing too much lately. back to normal, I guess. :)
but seriously, even if you don't like the song, do you really think it's their worst? I mean, are you really telling me you prefer, oh, I don't know, 'I Am a Grocery Bag'? Or 'Clowntown'? Or 'You'll Miss Me'? 'End of the Tour' is in an 11-way tie for 7th place on tmbw.net, so I kind of expect it to do well here, too.
Not quite back to normal: I agree with Lawrence. :D
I love "End of the Tour", probably even my favorite from John Henry. I think it'll do great here.
well, yeah, but it's only 59 seconds long, so by the time you even notice it's on, it's almost over. :)
though to be fair, I think that was one of the reasons they haven't made an album as long as John Henry since. Even if you like all 20 tracks, after about 45 minutes, it's time to listen to something else, so a lot of people never get to the end.
Interesting note on the Flansburgh songs. on tmbw.net, the top-ranked song written by Flansburgh is 'Subliminal' (#13). The top-ranked song sung by him is 'Reprehensible' (#21), which was (probably) written by Linnell.
The top-ranked true Flans song seems to be 'We Live in a Dump' (#24). But of the top 100 songs there, only 12 are true Flans songs. I'm not counting covers or live versions or collaborations, so there aren't necessarily 88 Linnell songs in there, but there are a lot. You must first create an account to post.
