I stand by my original review; what Jian called The infamous 40 page treatise.

I really think Thornhill was their strongest album. It was a wonderful culmination of the skill they'd been building for the previous decade. It was a wonderful album and an excellent sendoff and swan song".
It had the best production, the best playing, the best mixing, some of the better songs... I think Thornhill really is underappreciated. If it wasn't a good album, I'd just be stuck laughing that someone named an album after that abomination of a suburb. (*I don't really count C as a real album. It was just sort of, "Here are some fun songs on a CD", but not a release that they considerd to have any real weight.)
Wow, I'm interested in seeing how the "C" poll goes next week....
Same picks, different final choice. I guess we canceled each other out.

MPG got my vote (though I was leaning towards Downsizing at first). It's a beautiful "final song". And based on the track listings for all the band's albums, Früvous is very adept at having the right "final song" for the overall mood of the album, be it to uplift sadder music, add gravity to joie-de-vivre, or sum up their oeuvre. MPG serves as a lament for modern society, as well as lamenting the end of Früvous.
