My school didn't have one and I was quite happy about that. I wouldn't have had anyone to ask to it so this way I avoided something that would have made me feel lonely.
omg. that rocks so hard. :)
everyone knows my story--i stayed at home, in my room, in the dark, and listened to automatic for the people over and over again. angst, woe, tragedy.

even if I'd been able to get a date in high school, I kind of hated the thought of prom. it just seems like one of those lame high school social contests that I really didn't need, like senior superlatives and class elections.
I don't regret missing mine. in fact, I'm glad I did. It would have been an utter waste of my time.
our "safe and sane" graduation party was all about the moonbounce. and lynyrd skynyrd's greatest hits. good lord, am i glad i'm out of fredneck.
What is the moonbounce? That giant air filled matress that little kids play on?
As for the music at least when someone shouted out "Freebird" they could play it.

It amuses me that this is our third prom poll over the years. So we've had these same answers before. :)
and i submitted two of those polls. see, kids? this is what happens if you don't go to prom--you spend the rest of your life making up prom-related surveys for online communities. :P
I have actually joined communities just to make up prom polls. It's very sad.

Technically, I went stag, but I spent the whole night with Jesse Berglund.
Yeah, I knew about him even then.

Neither my g/f nor I had any interest at all.
We did, however, go to the after-party... which was in a big field full of tents and involved lots of food, alcohol and other illegal substances, despite it being a town-sponsored event. :D It was good times. The prom, from what I heard, was boring and stupid, which is exactly why i didn't go. hehe

Didn't go to prom, wasn't all that interested in going much at all, but I did go out to see a Kiss of the Spider Woman: The Musical on Broadway with my sister that night. I also got to try some of her sloe gin fizz during dinner.

I went to my prom, with another dateless female friend, and actually had a surprisingly good time, as I recall. Getting all dolled up and dancing and then party-hopping, while not my usual style, can be fun occasionally. :)
