Well, Jian is a CBC employee, and the CIUT show they were performing on is being hosted and produced by the locked out staff of CBC Radio One's Metro Morning...

...so of course Jian would be involved...

They rewrote the lyrics specifically to fit the CBC lockout, but no, it's not an entirely new song.
