The good news is most folks I know develop tolerance to the allergens the longer they're around the cats. Me, I'm allergic myself. But with three kitties and living with them...doesn't bother me anymore. The only time I get attacks these days is if I meet a new kitty and get their brand new allergens, or if my kitties lick my face. The saliva is where the bad shit is.
But just be patient. In time the allergies will probably fade in reaction to your cats.
