New kittens!

   Discussion: New kittens!

milk isn't a good idea..... dairy products tend to be pretty bad for cats, though they love them.

i'd heard that somewhere..

These kittens look like they need a lot of love and attention. Make sure you can give it to them. Definitely need a vet...their eyes look owie and they probably have earmites, at the least. Please get some cat food...kitten food if they're still that young because it has extra nutrients a kitten needs. Do not make them subsist on human food...they'll live but they won't get what they need. As nate pointed out...milk isn't good for them. If they're young enough to need milk (don't SEEM to be) get powdered kitten formula. Make sure they have lots of water. They also look like they need a bath and a brushing.

And I know I sound very lecturey. :) I just want to make sure they get the care they need and that you realize the committment involved. And since I don't know you that well, I figure be over-lecturey rather than under-lecturey, just to be safe for their sake! :)

where are the pics of these kitten babies?

yeah their eyes look owwie. they might have some kind of kitty cold... are they gooey? are there eye boogers?

I know the kind of commitment it is to take on a pet, but there is a part of me that HAS to have animal babies and even though we're poor as dirt jayne has everything he could want/need. we just make sure he has it. its never questioned that he comes first (with exception to stuff I'll die without) he just does. you know?

I'm not sure what was going on with their eyes, but it seems to be gone now. We're taking them to the vet on friday though so I'll know for sure they're okay.

I'm fully set on the cats coming first, it made me so sad when we got them and they were clearly very hungry. The only thing I'm really unsure about is what to name them, everything else I can either read about or speak to a vet about. =)

Any name suggestions??

Last night Joshua went and got them kitty food, and flea stuff and our friend Anna came over and helped him bathe them. Their eyes look better this morning. We've moved the vet day to friday so we'll know then how they're doing. =) I adore these kitties, but I really don't know anything about them so any advice is welcome.
