Poll: What luxury of modern living do you most miss at FRFF?

It is a close call for me, flush toilets or my bed.

definitely.

Toilets aren't a problem.. and my air mattress is actually very very comfy.
The showers aren't too bad... I mostly eat food from vendors.... I don't care about TV... and I can go a few days without checking email. (it's actually rather nice).

The only thing I would like is the ability to sleep a bit beyond 6:30 or 7am, which a/c would be lovely for.
I don't mind being outside in the heat so much during the day... but... that extra sleep would be nice.

In the end, though, it's all part of the falcon ridge experience. :)

Heh, camping @ Falcon Ridge is a luxury for me considering past experiences.� I mean, heck, you get to have your car on site, there are showers, and the festival grounds are relatively close to the camping.���

I'd have to say either a nice warm bed (because our tent was far too small and made our bed a bit clammy each night) and shade.

Talcotts are not designed for hot and sunny weather. While I had a great time, I would have caught many more mainstage acts if it were blustery and overcast. There doesn't need to be rain, but something other than sunny blue skies would be perfect.

Get a bigger tent next year. I ended up buying a 6 person tent because it was on sale for less than $50 and was cheaper than the smaller tents. You have a year to find one on sale. Mine is too big, I'm going to hold a cotillion in it next FRFF.

Yeah, a bigger tent is definitly in the cards for next year.

Although for a $20 tent, ours did quite well in the storm, so I can't complain too much about it.

It was, at best, 6'x6' at the base, and maybe three feet tall.

We found it at Mardens, a salvage/surplus store up here. It said it would sleep two, and the price was right. And it did sleep two. Technically.

If we hadn't been able to bring our car to the camp site, we'd've been screwed though ;-)

Me too! I see those and the little demo sleeping bags and I'm all "awwww! my kitten could go camping!" and very much covet them. :)

We talked about how we should have brought Jayne with us as the official camp cat. He would have loved hunting all of the grasshoppers.

Of course, he also would have ripped our tent to shreds in about two seconds ;-)

The toilets - no question.� I didn't exactly rough� it - big tent with a fan; collapsible bed frame for a comfortable air mattress; pumped hot water shower in� a shower tent with shelves; full kitchen and pumped water wash station with sink.� it was hot, of course, but next year we will have a canopy with a misting system to cool down.� we also had a bar tent with electric power, and a cafe, with a variety of exotic teas and coffees.� and the pizza oven!� sunday night we turned out 18 pizzas!� if i could only figure out how to get round the porta-potties!
