Poll: do you eat the heels? |
Discussion:
do you eat the heels?
![]() With bread I usually don't. Also depends on the type of bread though. Sliced sandwich bread? Likely not. But in a fancier bakery bread...possibly. Conversely...on a roast or something (beef, turkey, ham, whatev.) the heel is my favorite because it's got all the baked in yummy bits. ![]() ![]()
I can only imagine that's true in terms of protecting the slice next to the heel from air exposure so the surface stays squishy.
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() no, actually there's something in it that makes it good for you to eat. Q. Is it safe to eat the potato skin? ![]() ![]() ![]()

HEELS RULE! Perhaps a bread company should conduct a survey regarding how many people consume the heels of the bread. If such results implied that only a small percentage of bread users (yes, bread USERS) were eating the heel, then perhaps the company could collect the heels aside, and maybe donate them to the hungry. Sure, serious businesses are in it for the money, but I smell tax write-off. THE PRESIDENTS SANDWICH HAS BEEN KIDNAPPED. ARE YOU A BREAD ENOUGH DUDE TO SAVE IT? EDIT: I dont know JACK SQUAT about taxes, in case anyone had some sort of smartypants response. :-P ![]() ![]()
