Can't stand Woody Allen's stuff, so I'm not on board with the genius thing. Don't know him well enough to know if he's a pervert. At best...kinda skeevy.

I'm with ya on both counts.

I just watched Manhattan this weekend and found it to be rather brilliant, so I've gotta go with 'genius', although his more recent stuff has been kind of weak.

His last film Melinda and Melinda was brilliant. I'm a sucker for works that decontruct themselves a Woody Allen hallmark. I guess you know how I voted. Of course the fact that Woody is the overwhelming choice to play me in a film makes me hope that pervert stops getting votes.

i also liked his earlier stuff much much better, even though the "him" character was never very likable for me.

but i don't think he's really a pervert (i'm not even sure what that means). running off with a nineteen year old wasn't perverted, just very dumb, selfish & shortsighted.

I think the alleged pervert part comes from the "he helped raise the girl he ran off with" thing. And the (I think determined to be) spurious claims of molesting one or more of the other kids.

Me, I have no idea what really happened. And I think the word "pervert" is not to be used lightly. So..yeah...I'm content with skeevy. :)
