hey all, im new here and i just wanted to introduce myself and get acquainted with some people here so im not just a lonely newbie anymore.

so anyways.. my names melanie, ill be 18 in a few weeks...ive been a huge fruvous fan since i was a kid. ive seen them a few times at some festivals and whatnot and, as im sure all of you are, i am quite saddened by their hiatus.

im probably saying the exact same thing as all newbies do so ill just stop there.

basically id love to talk to anyone about music, books...current issues i guess... pretty much anything.

Woo Hoo you mention Isaac Asimov on your profile. When I was on Jeopardy and Alex asked me about my favorite sf/fantasy writer I said Asimov. I was going to say James Branch Cabell but then I would have had to spend the rest of the show explaining Jurgen. By the way I recommend Jurgen big time. Ignore all the protests that I know will come in response to my saying that.

i'm chronologically reading the robots/empire/foundation series right now (including out of print books) i need nemesis, the gods themselves, and some more story collections to have asimov's complete sci-fi.

I've read all of Asimov's SF, most of his mysteries, and a great deal of his non-fiction including all the essays from the Magazine of Fantasy and Science Fiction. Those were the best things he ever wrote.

I was also fortunate enough to meet him on a number of occassions.
