I'm Lurleen Lumpquest, washtub player for the Tweed Twangers, and heard a really funny song, credited to Dave Matheson on last weekend's Vinyl Cafe, called 'Raccoon'. I'd love the lyrics/chords and blessing to bring it into our repertoire.
We're currently performing 'Rippy The Gator' (A.Worms), but not at children's shows lol
Groovy site; hope to hear from...................anybody.... ;)
... why not perform Rippy the Gator at children's shows? The Worms do.
Welcome. And, Racoon is heretofore unreleased and I don't think it's been heard by very many people, which may make it hard to find lyrics or tabs. The only line I remember from it is "My cousin tried to stab one with a patio chair" which cracks me up whenever I think about it.
All I remember is .oO They made me write this tune, Racoooooon Oo.
In fact, I saw it when Dave performed *with* the Arrogant Worms. And some other guy - Mike Ford or something. It still blows me away how few fruheads were there.
What we lacked in quantity we made up for in quality. We got rewarded by discovering that Mike and Dave were Moxy so Murray and Jian must be Fruvous.
dang. you two just reminded me that I have pictures I've never posted. I'll get on that. yeah.
no, the best thing ever is if she actually does play washtub. because dwd. washtub.
i seriously need to take jug band class once my ankle's better.

Lurleen is my moniker, but my family calls me 'Karen'... strange group of people, but ya can't pick yer relatives....
I DO play washtub (go ahead, google the Twangers :) ) and really appreciate the word on 'Raccoon'. There were plenty of lines in that song that cracked me up, which is why I missed so much of it listening that day....it's hard to double over laughing and retain words at the same time....well, for me it is, but then again, I'm just a Twanger. I'm going to suggest we do 'Rippy' at the kids' shows, too lol We're still toying with the idea of pulling it out for the WarAmps gigs as well....I mean, it's an 'armless little ditty, no?
it seems like "Yay! Replies!! ;)" was a general observation about the forum, & thus a new thread. what post did you think it should be a reply to?
