Defining You

Reading the "Who Am I?" thread got me to thinking: how do you define yourself? Instead of having to explain, is there a song/songs that you feel help define who you are?
In addition:
-If you don't feel the entire song conveys who you are, is there a particular line/verse that does?
-How about a song/line/verse that describes a certain portion of your life? (for me...one of these would have to be "1000 Sarahs by EFO...because it *perfectly* describes this real jerk of a girl i know, aptly named Sarah. And...I can't begin to explain how perfect to a T that song is in describing this girl, and how i felt.)
have fun.
"i'm just living on words & feelings, with a weak & a lazy mind...."
& half of joni mitchell's catalog, really.
oh god, yes, "people's parties"/"same situation" was my anthem for a long time.
Iron Clad Lou by Hum (swear words, ahoy!)
What Matters by Matthew Sweet (but really, that whole album is insanely biographical, especially Split Personality, Beware My Love, and Thunderstorm.) and Presto by Rush So in short, I have a big ego, and a lot of regrets.

...is they talk to much. You might take a fall down the stairs, and a Talcott will come along and say "ain't that just like life". I think the trouble with Talcotts is that they see poetry everywhere.
It's also great to be a nerd.

At least i used to think all songs were about me, particularly the ones about the gorgeous girlfiendswho was too good for her loser boyfriend. Certain ongs speak to em at certainmomnets. I found a song called Disappointment by McAlmont and Butler summed up the relationship I had in my head for five years. It's a song bout believing the songs are about you, and that soemone loves you when they don't. I also really related to Drowned Girl for a while and Dissolved Girl by Massive Attack. At the moment though there is no theme song. I think some songs just represent who you are in a moment but that moment is just that, a moment.
i have to agree, the songs i used to say defined me are definately different. i used to be really into James' "Sit Down:" "those who feel the breath of sadness, sit down next to me. those who find they're touched by madness, sit down next to me...those who find themselves rediculous, sit down next to me, in love, in fear, in hate, in tears.." i suppose if any that could still be a theme of sorts.
I actually have a couple of CDs Adam gave me but I haven't yet listened because I lost them but now I've refound them so I will. :)
listen listen listen!!
and check them out at frff! > I love The Wiggles. oO And in the kitchen they're making...all the fruit salad you can eat.... at the WIGGLY PARTY! Oo Gosh, we certainly don't play Hoop De Hoo-- It's A Wiggly Partyabout twice a day every day at our house.

"Your Ex-Lover Is Dead" - Stars.
"When there is nothing left to burn You have to set yourself on fire God that was strange to see you again Introduced by a friend of a friend Smiled and said "yes I think we've met before" In that instant it started to pour Captured a taxi despite all the rain We drove in silence across Pont Champlain And all of that time you thought I was sad I was trying to remember your name This scar is a fleck on my porcelain skin You tried to reach deep but you couldn't get in And now you're outside me you see all the beauty Repent all your sin It's nothing but time and a face that you'll lose I chose to feel it and you couldn't choose I'll write you a postcard, I'll send you the news From the house down the road, from real love Live through this and you won't look back Live through this and you won't look back Live through this and you won't look back There's one thing I have to say so I'll be brave You were what I wanted, I gave what I gave I'm not sorry I met you I'm not sorry it's over I'm not sorry there's nothing to save I'm not sorry there's nothing to save" (because I'm sure there are people who dont know the song)
