Toronto Visit!

hey, all! I know I haven't been around much, but there's a fair chance I'll be heading up to Toronto this weekend, and I'd love to see/crash with any of y'all that remember me. I'm not sure who all from the old set is still there... but I'd really like to see you! Oh, and is Tory Cassis playing his usual gig on Saturday?

Tory will indeed be playing at the Res - the only weekend he won't be around is May 14th

woah. Yeah. Damn. That was... 6 years ago? well, really 5. 3 days before my birthday. But still!

Andy Stochansky is also playing this Saturday (April 9), at a club where the shows are usually over by 11ish, which leaves enough time to pop down to the Res and catch Tory still - he plays until at least 1:30, I believe.

oh wow... could you let me know where some of these will be? as in addresses or directions?

Andy's at the Mod Club - take the subway to Queen's Park and catch the west-going bus to somewhere around Ossington, or take the subway to Ossington and catch the south bus to College. From there to the Resevoir, take a bus to a subway station and go to King station and walk east and south a bit to Wellington. But if you're interested in going to both, I would love to join you and it might be easier to just get a cab to Tory.

See, I'd totally see Tory more often (or at all) if he wasn't playing the Res.

Very true. It's better if you go with other people who are also not 50-year-old stockbrokers, but yes. I too feel quite out of place. And tend to just not order anything.

If you can tolerate the Res, that's cool. On Monday nights, there's an amazing singer there called Terra Hazelton. She's outta this world... y'all should check her out.

So, do you two want to make a night of it? Go to both concerts? Maybe have dinner beforehand? I'll be driving up, so I'll have a car...

I'd be up for it. I don't know any specific places for dinner near the Mod Club, but it's in the middle of Little Italy so it can't be hard to find something good.

Ah! Alas!
My roommates have prevented me from going. I would have to do the 8 hour drive back alone starting at 4 AM, and they say it's not ok. So, a future weekend when I don't have to be back at noon.
