She is a fictional host a la Sally Jessie or Jerry. That song is a retread of an earlier song from the sience videos called "Photosynthisis"

I've always been under the impression that she is the star of a fictional action show and that the references to news and all are just lumped in with all the other refenences to how they live life where the narrator lives.

JW was written for the b album which came out in 1996. The science vids are from 1994.
