There are things you can do about getting credit.

First off paying your phone bill counts.

Secondly get a credit card. I get applications for them in the mail all the time, get one and fill it out. If they won't give you one get a store credit card.

Then buy some cheap stuff and pay the bill on time. Viola, you have credit history.
