It looks like once again I'll be home alone watching a Doctor Who marathon on my VCR.
I'll be home with Paul. Don't really go for NYE parties and festivities. Couldn't even be bothered to stay up until midnight last year. We'll probably snack and watch DVDs. Probably try in vain to catch up on Alias in time.
meh..all you really need to do is watch the last 3 episodes of Season 3 to catch up (particularly the last episode with the big shocker ending!). Much of the season was just filler (though with JJ, you never know what will come back later on).
I have a lot to catch up on since I've only seen season one and some of season two. So even if season 3 is mostly filler, I sitll have a lot to experience. :)
We'll be at the nth degree *awaits responses of rowr and yum *

My answer is "Staying in with someone", but I should explain. I'm hoping to stay in with Tori. The thing is, my flight to Arizona is on New Year's Eve. After a four hour layover in Denver (not at 6am, unfortunately), I'll be on my way to Phoenix. If all goes well (no delays and such), I'll get there at around 10:40. However, Denver tends to get somewhat snowy and icy (or so I hear), so this is all heavily dependent on whether I am delayed at all. So basically, I'm hoping to be staying in with someone, but I might be either sitting in an airport or flying when the new year comes (and I sure do enjoy parentheses).
like they'd want to do that... it would have to be byob, byof, byof and byoe. bring your own beer, food, fun and entertainment. plus we're borring.
wow I realized that I should prolly say that this is the zillypha. forgot I was on talcotts account for something...

Well, I picked "going to party" which was the closest to what I will be doing, but it's not a party in the getting drunk in a crowded apartment/club sense. I'm planning to go to a New Year's Eve Contra Dance out in Chatam, NJ with a few of the NYC contra dance regulars. There's a pot luck dinner and then 5 hours of dancing fun. It should be interesting. Whee! *swings*

Don't have plans for the actual stroke of midnight, but after that, we're going to see Mike Gordon with The Benvento/Russo Duo at BB King's. Doors are at 1AM.
Unfortunately, BB Kings is right near Times Square, so that's gonna be a pain in the tushy.

New Year's Eve at the big Niagara Falls bash along with 50,000 revelers in what will be an unseasonably warm night (RE: above freezing). Doing Toronto on New Year's Day and Bills/Steelers on Jan. 2nd.

going to what should be an extremely fun party hosted by three of our friends.
Going to a show. The man is taking me to the WXRT New Year's Eve bash... Big Head Todd (aaight), Robert Randolph Family Band (aaight) and Michael McDermott (yum). At midnight we all run to the windows and see the fireworks. Every NYE event is way too expensive-- last year I flipped the channels between coverage for the B-52's ($125) and the Thorns (opening for someone- $150)but they lowered this one by about $75 so it's almost acceptable at $67/person with free favors and $10 toward drinks.
Yeah... B-52's are my favorites EVER and Matthew Sweet is right up there too so it sucked to have them both here for insane prices... but I made the most of it at least seeing them both. It's supposed to be around 40 degrees Friday night! YEAH!!!

I'll tell you what I'll be doing: I'll be ROCKING OUT!
I've been asked to bring my (borrowed) handbells to accompany a band on New Year's Eve! I'm beyond jazzed, let me tell you. What a way to kick off the New Year: As a BELL-RINGING ROCKSTAR! I'd better learn to play Auld Lang Syne on bells.

In at 8 am the next morning, so not really planning on doing anything. meh.
omg, i SO FEEL FOR YOU. i remember NYE @ a video store. it's hell on earth. at Video Connection (was a local toledo chain, now owned by movie gallery, i dont know if movie gallery is in canada) we used to have a ticket stub for every rental that went in a little box. usually the stack was about maybe 2 inches thick on a busy night when rubber-banded? thin carbonpaper too. NYE IT WAS ALWAYS AT LEAST 2 PILES OF5 INCH STACKS. lines out the door. people were renting anything they could find.

I don't know. Not really. Two or three - maybe three or four - options, and I've yet to choose.
I can go to OMN and hang with the Woodywards (fun, but long drive - and zero desire to be on the roads while sleepy, while there are drunks out there too means I'd be crashin' on their couch). I can go out to m'regular bar, and touch base with my barfly friends. I can stay in, eat steak and shrimp, watch a movie, and then have a mostly-"normal" evening. Or, my cousin might be havin' a party - I never know about those things until the last moment. Probably because she never seems to either. Or maybe another option will appear... *thinks* No, not bleedin' likely any of the ones I'd like are going to materialize. But, hey, they'd be long trips too. So no big loss, right?

I was invited to a few parties, but I'm not big on driving home on New Years early morning when I have a much better (worse?) chance of being hit by a drunk/drugged driver.
So I think I'm going to stay in and join Sally and Brady in drinking wine and watching movies. Yumm You must first create an account to post.
