Goulais River Rats this weekend!

Discussion: Goulais River Rats this weekend!

Attention Toronto folks! There's a show this weekend that you all should come to!

The Goulais River Rats moved to Toronto from north of Sault Ste. Marie a few months ago and they brought the house down when they showed up at a Coffeehouse open mic. They're lots of fun, with high-energy east-coast-style folk music, with a cover arsenal that includes lots of Great Big Sea, Johnny Cash (and a bit of House of Pain). What they lack in banjo they make up for in trombone. They're also just all-around great guys. Serious, mang. If we all had more Vince Feletti in our lives, the world would be a much better place.

They're playing two freeshows this weekend: Friday the 17th and Saturday the 18th, at the Red Lion pub (449 Jarvis, just south of Wellesley). I'd really love to see these guys play for a full house and get a local following, because they absolutely deserve it. It'd also be cool to see some of you folks!
I'll be at the Saturday show, so if you're up for some rockin' accoustic music played by four attractive young men that night, look for me in a green dress (by the way, my friends and I are going in semi-formal dress for no readily explicable reason. Feel free to follow suit) (HAHAHA! Follow SUIT!) (I'M SO WITTY!).
